That sounds like fun for someone with the time and funds. I’m in a new job, so I’m saddled for the time to just weekends off for at least the next year. A cruise like that sounds great!

I’ve got a pretty gal for my main accessory. Cars may come and go, but she’s a keeper.

Love it when the solution is essentially free!
Might want to put a dab of paint on one lug stud and one hole so you don’t repeat the problem next time the wheels come off the car. -

It’s a 3-stage product. When finished you apply Stage 1 and the surface is as sooth as glass.

like the pretty girl wearing a kerchief and sun glasses but I don’t think the wife would appreciate that particular accessory. (drat!)

You forgot the wicker picnic basket on the luggage rack, the plaid blanket and wine cooler behind the seats and the pretty girl wearing a kerchief and sun glasses in the passenger seat.
TDs accesorize very nicely. -

Took the car in Friday to get the wheels balanced while on the car. Upon inspection getting the wheel up to speed while off the ground revealed wheel travel up and down indicating something was out of round. We pulled the wheel off and noticed the knock off hub mounted to the brake drum was off center. Unusual cause the holes are over size but the…[Read more]

Does it leave a film or does it feel like a waxed or unwaxed surface? That looks really nice.

The TDs had blackwalls, yes, but they were and are so “convertible” the wide whites can look “right.” What do I mean by “convertible?”Well, top up, top down, windscreen up, windscreen down, with or without wind wings. Some had the windshield removed and those little aeroscreens installed. Some of those had the front fenders pulled and replaced by li…[Read more]

Allen, Most of the TDs that I remember from the 50s had black wall tires. I’m sure that many owners put white walls on their cars as a ”dress up” item. Back then they were all wide whitewalls, though I have seen some with narrow ones as well.
Look in SunTan Sailer’s photo gallery to see pics of his car with black tires and also with wide w…[Read more] -

Keep us posted on what the problem was. We offer advice based on our experience with a similar problem. There could be half a dozen reasons why your TD won’t idle when it warms up. We’d like to know which one it was.
Here’s an easy one. What does your air filter look like? Clean it or replace it before you start adjusting the carb. Restricted air…[Read more] - Load More
