Dick,
I believe the common wisdom is that standard VW shocks will work best for VW based TD Replica.
Coil-overs will only add stiffness to the suspention where you don’t need it!PMOSSBERG40749.5417824074 -

I ordered a product of the internet used to coat the inside of pick truck beds,
its called “Grizzly Grip” . I liked it because you can brush or roller it it on
and as it dries in expands a little bit and creates a texture that covers the
brush and rollers marks. I ended up coating all the front trunk area and
passenger area after bolting down…[Read more] -

Olimon Ricardo replied to the topic Greetings from an MP Lafer owner in the forum MP Lafer 13 years, 11 months ago
My original Lafer gauges had clear plastic covers that were scratched and dull and the chrome was
pitted and rusty. I purchased replacement glass and bezels from a company called North
Hollywood Speedometer (www.nhspeedometer.com). I was only able to find replacement glass and
bezels for the 5 smaller gauges so I ended up using the old bezels and…[Read more] -

Speaking of another one, Montie, as I left your place, I saw on the highway, another car that looked in the distance to be a TD or replica. I couldn’t get too close to it, as it turned to go north, but I wonder if there is another owner near you?

Yugo huh. Wonder if the powerplant is a bit lethargic. The kit looks to be a fiberfab but can’t be certain. Let us know what you find out.

I’ll watch for that book next time I’m at the book store/Starbucks. That two lane highway trip sounds good to me, so much of the country is missed on the inte…[Read more] -

Sorry. I went in and pulled a bunch of stuff I’d posted for some folks working with me on a longer vid at work. Inadvertently privatized that one too.Should be viewable now. BTW–mute the sound. Something went haywire with the audio on it.

Montie:
They are standard offset from MG Magic. I found a beautiful set on ebay with knock-offs for a close price. But being retired I kept up with the simplicity theme and went with MG Magic wheels.
I’m real happy with them, MG centers are from Moss. We ground off the posts and used industrial auto body cement to attach them to the spinners.

Another book that my AAA office was unaware of is RoadTrip USA by Jamie Jensen. I found out about it online, but picked the only copy at a book store in Manhattan right before I headed west. If I didn’t have deadlines to meet at each end of the country, I would gladly have taken one or more of the routes in this book.I’m already starting to plan…[Read more]
