That is pretty amazing that we debate it to death, and along comes justduky who actually did the side-mounts!I was one of those that thought the side mounts would not work. Shows how much we know!

 Hi Duk, Thanks for the pictures!!. Your car is the first I’ve seen with sidemount spares. We had a discussion here last week and several of us decided it would not work because of space limitations but your pictures prove us wrong.I guess it goes to show that us ”experts  self proclaimed” don’t know it all after all. Best of luck with your project.

I wonder if the molds are the ones Ed mentioned in another post that are on ebay.  They’re in southern Cali.   

I will check it out problem I have is my title vin matches nothing story is it matched old pan that rusted out  vin on current pan is already registered to a vw in different city and it does match windshield strip vin of that vw and is same as my pan vin. In other words they have at least part of the body off of my pan.

 Chuckles, Thanks for the update, Brad Anderson is indeed a nice guy and knows his stuff about TD replicas. I hope the new owners will be as good as he was. I did not realize that they still had molds. Wonder if there are any plans for making replacement fiberglass parts or perhaps a website? Please keep us informed if you find out any details.

I had muffler heat problems melting the fiberglass panel that sits right above it so I lined that panel with an aluminum sheet and ran the sheet all the way up to the V/W sheet metal. I agree with the idea that the fan should not be sucking in all that hot air.
My al sheet solved the melting problem, anyway!
