Ed, Thanks for the photos and job description. These jobs seldom turn out to be easy, but you hung in there and got her done even tho you had to shed blood to finish the project. That always adds value and a personal touch to the completed task.

Update: beam is back in. Had to tie off the steering box and curl/press the assembled beam into place. Some of you know I’m a little guy and sit at a desk for a living & so this was not as much fun as I had hoped.
But, after a couple hours wrestling with it, there it is.
The problem then? Ball joint boots = NG. Can’t believe I didn’t notice I’d…[Read more]

Welcome, Ray. You’ll find support here, and I’m pretty sure a couple Chevette-based owners are active. Post pictures and questions and have fun with your build.

Paul,
The only part number I can find for the switch I purchased is on the carton. But that part number is: 86914 abd it’s a Brass, 3-position, Push/Pull switch with 4 terminals. I pland on using it for the Emergency Flasher. Hope this helps. -

Welcome Ray10 to the group and congrats on getting the TD. You WILL enjoy it. Tghrough building it and driving it. There are a number of folks here with Chevy based TDs and I’m sure they can help you along the way. And the registry will show you who is closest to you.

Paul Allain replied to the topic Dash Switches in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 3 months ago
Would you have a part number for these switches? There are no Pepboy stores close by and I could not locate any on their website.

I usually stay away from JCW except for books. Their QUALITY has been suspect. Seems the price is right but the fit, quality, and durability of their parts is not quite up to par. Never been let down by Mid America nor CIP1.com.

Hi Phillip,Some story! I hope all the bad luck is behind you!I checked some USA resources and there are places to have custom sized radiators made. I’m sure searching “custom radiators” will turn up some sources in the UK. Another possibility, armed with the dimensions, a really good auto parts guy/gal might be able to come up with a stock…[Read more]

Welcome Ford,
If you look below under finished cars and unfinished cars sections you will
see a few for sale. They can be easy to tow home if you are worried about a
long drive home. One of the cars is Chevy based so I am not sure that will
work for you. He HeGood luck on finding the right TD for you.
