Question on the tire info. I understand if the tires are five years old or older and never been drivenj. What if your car is driven minimally, say once a week. In about five years you still would have quite a bit of tread left. Would the minimal use prevent or delay breakdown of the rubber components on the inside of the tire?
I ask because I…[Read more] -

Rain expected here today. But 51 degrees. Will be back on the beam, maybe get the swaybar back on. Then again, maybe not. Ripped a couple of ball joint boots taking everything off (used a pickle fork, an apparent no-no). So waiting for new boots. Lots of other things to do. Could clean the office. Nah.HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all!…
No SNOW here in southern buckeye land, but rain rain rain. Yesterday would heve been a great day for a ride, but, had to work late. I’ll fire her up in the garage for a while this afternoon just to get the fluids circulating. -

68 in Kentucky today. Planed the wood for a dash, put a moto-meter on the rad cap, and took a short drive (top down) in the Fiberfab migi! Life is good!

Rob,
I tried the top up once. Just not the same. I also tried the side curtains
what a pain.. For me, it’s top down if it ain’t rainin.. I’d rather bundle up.

Montie.
On a cool autumn afternoon the top up even without the side curtains is warmer then with no top at all. I don’t have side curtains so my cold weather testing is somewhat limited. -

I’m thinking marine stuff should be good, generally, as it too spends its life out in the sun, wind and rain. But just guessing as my dash project is coming after my front beam job is done (see other posts for that) and after I get my e-brake handle moved to between the seats, where it belongs. After that, dashboard. Figure I’ll have it all apart…[Read more]

dbrock,I am also working my wood dash. I have to add a hole for a switch, the 12V power supply (cigarette lighter) and a hole for the high beam indicator. I want to move it to between the speedometer and tach. Also just as a reminder…measure twice and cut once. Great times working the TD.Hope you have a Happy New Year and the TD too.

Thanks for the advice. I had planned to use a marine polyurethane on both sides. Do you think that would work?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you aboard. I too have a BCW Chevette based TD replica and a VW based London Roadster.
Your user name makes me think of a beautiful location in the south east. If I am quessing correctly we are in the same state.
