I did get some terrible aftermarket pieces for the Ghia but switched to two Ghia only parts houses and never had a problem. And the two Ghia only parts supliers know enough to make certain you supply your VIN with the order because the understand that not all 74 Ghia parts (for instance) are the same. My clutch cable was shorter than the 74 year…[Read more]

Advantage: Way bigger and longer lasting fire!
Ask CIP1 where it is made. The VW aftermarket is the absolute WORSTfor horrible quality, ill fitting parts. I know, I have a lot of them!!!

If too big, no problem though, right? Stock Bug tank holds what? About 8-10 gallons? So that’s 250-350 miles. Unless Bridget was doing the Paris-Dakar Rally (again)
I’d not see much need for a 16 gallon tank.

I saw one of those at a swap meet and I am pretty sure it is too tall to fit under the TD hood.

I have included here a couple of the pictures of the kit as shown on ebay and a few of the photos of my progress on the project. I’m hoping to complete and be on the road by next summer.

I am in Missouri and purchased my insurance through Hagerty
Collector Car Insurance for $145 per year. I did this
through my insurance agent. I have had Hagerty insurance
before with other classic cars.

That looks good. But I would maybe check to make sure it will fit under the TD hood. It looks like it might be a little thicker/taller than a stock tank. I wonder if the good folks at CIP1 will tell you the dimensions.

I’ve got Grundy. No complaints, but no claoims, and I went to them with a clear MD title in hand. They’re all classic, rod, kit, home-built though and so should be generally familiar with your situation.

I have American classic cars for insurance— they seem very good — check them out about the surety bond.

Welcome Shane..Glad to read that one (MGTD Replica) was saved before
Someone decided that it was junk and had a trash dealer come for it .
Did you look around that garage for any parts that may belong to the car..
An unassembled kit sure can fill a lot of boxes. And any parts missing will be
a problem to find later . I sold my car and thought I had…[Read more] -
