Bill, use the search button at the top ,type in rear springs and look at Hawk521’s post about Chevette springs. Good info on this subject.

James Cochran replied to the topic Has anyone made an MGTD looking trailer?? in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 7 months ago
I pull a 14′ flat bed trailer with 12″ wheels behind mine. It pulls like a dream. On road trips I put my luggage behind the seat and use the trailer for my wife’s luggage
. The trailer was made from a pop-up trailer frame.

Hi, Quite a project you’ve got there.
It might be helpful to give your location. Just the general area would be OK. The prospective buyer would have a better idea of the cost and effort required to get it home.
Also ,I did not see the doors on the list or in the pictures.Did I overlook them or are they missing?
You did a good job with the p…[Read more] -

Ahh the memories. My ribs still hurt from laughing so hard when I taught my son. One good thing is the VW transaxles can take a licking and keep on ticking.

She looks great Rollie!
Just a slight bit of patina, appropriate for a reproduction of a 58 year old car! -

I figure we’ll all be toast if we have a serious “event” in these cars anyway.
But she’s 17 now and three people don’t fit.
Of course, now I have to teach her to operate a manual transmission so she can drive the thing. 🙂 -

There ! How is that for a 30 year old fiberglass shine ? As you can see , the
fender tips are a little dull, glazed, not quite as shinny, as other parts. The
finish was nice without the wax, but I wanted to save/protect what I had and
used the paste wax over it. I am thrilled ! -

Rollie,
I’m going to give Mequiars “Ultimate compound” a try. Did you use the
“tech wax 2.0” “liquid” or “paste” afterward?

That is brilliant, Paul. Less than half a second off perfect! Was it in the TD?And, yeah, setup on these might be more work than I can handle next summer. I do have other pursuits. But there appears to be a rally club or two ’round these parts. Maybe we can muster up a TD contingent for an existing run. I’m going to open it up to the Speedster…[Read more]

A true TSD rally is a LOT of work to put together.
I’ve done the One Lap of Connecticut a few times. It’s a fund raiser for a children’s hospital.
We WON the first time out. At one point per hundreth of a second off from perfect, we scored a 43. Yes. A 43!
And we had a “zero” on one timed segment, which means we hit the timing strip at EXACTLY the…[Read more] -

I’m lovin’ that little kid standing up in the well behind the seats. No belts on anybody…and those wicked-cool leather RAF helmets. OK, maybe that’s not Paul in 1979. It’s me in 2015.Gotta find that movie. Watched “Two For The Road” w/ Karen last month and it almost broke us up. Total bummer of a film. Couple cool TD scenes though.
