1977 chevette 4 speed mg td by fiberfab
The shifter on this has no spring to it. It just flops all over the place unlike others I have used that self center with a spring. This makes it real hard to figure out where 1st is compared to 3rd when shifting. You just have to guess that you are in line with 1st then if you are shift down then up an…[Read more]

1977 chevette mg td by fiberfab 4 speed.
My oil pressure Gage is not working at all. I figure it is the sending unit. Where can I get one and what do I need to check to be sure it is in fact the sending unit?

The speedometer is reading 60mpg at 40. Is there a fix for this?

I just bought this mg td replica made on a 1977 chevette 4 speed from fiberfab.
After I had the car inspected, then registered the car and got my tag I went for a drive.
PROBLEM #1
We were driving down the road when the car started ideling faster then normal, then when we turned into a store parking lot and turned the car “off” it kept the eng…[Read more]

Since and while we’re having so much fun, Jack, they’re not tweezers. They are tongs.

Now you’re having fun.
Tea is apparently indispensable to any British car build process, as we have all learned from watching the Project Binky videos. (You HAVE binge-watched them all, haven’t you?)

Both are correct. Cream and brown is correct for the vast majority of TDs. Black and white went on a some of the later Mark IIs

Like Bill. Mine is Cream and Brown. I think I got mine from MG Magic. Either them or Moss Motors.

Hey folks –
My CMC has the generic TD grille badge and I am looking to replace it with a MG octagon. Which is the correct version? I am seeing a creme and brownish/maroon and a black and white.

Ok Roy, I will simplify — I’ll get rid of the sugar cubes and the sugar cube tweezers and change the label “Diorama” to something more descriptive like “Scene depicting a happy British Motoring Couple having their CUPPA while parked at that special overlook on the Welsh Coast” or maybe even “Time for Tea” or simply leave the scene unnamed and l…[Read more]

Hmm — I forgot about my 12 volt tea kettle —
I need to go find it, the English Bone China cups & saucers, sugar tweezers and drive-in tray so I can put them in the back of Manypenny for my next drive around the block!!
Happy Jack

Ed, do you mean that the secondaries come in too soon?

edward ericson replied to the topic I'm Gonna do a V8. in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 6 years, 9 months ago
Bill, wouldn’t fuel starvation show itself at WOT instead of “mid-range part throttle?”
I think your problem is in the transition from the primary jets to the secondaries and, if I had to bet a waffle breakfast, I’d guess the primaries come in too soon/too rich and there’s your midrange stumble.
That and/or spark curve. Do you know advance at…[Read more]

Hey Bill,
It sounds like the fender bender was REALLY a fender bender!!
As to the wipers, I could talk about the special wiper motor I installed, or I could talk about the neat way I changed the auto park circuit to make them park on the right —
— or I could admit that I did not hook up the auto park feature and I decided to park the wipers…[Read more]

This morning I stripped the fuel delivery system from the car. There was a mid range, part throttle, stumble that wasn’t affected by making adjustments. I feel I need MORE FUEL!!! I’ll have a larger capacity fuel pump tomorrow and will install with larger fuel lines. The only restriction left in the system will be the supply line built into the…[Read more]
