Like Larry said.Definitely try to buff it out before you spring for a paint job.Meguiars makes a line of boat polishes and waxes. I had good results with their stuff. If you do end up painting, you (or the painter) will probably sand the entire body to remove the gloss and then head straight for the spray gun. You may not even have to prime it,…[Read more]

A marine supply dealer [boat dealer] can provide you with products for the gelcoat and if it cleans up to your satisfaction and you are happy with the gloss, it will last for years with minimal attention.
If you deside to paint it ,that is also possible, with the choices being determined by the degree of quality you wish to accomplish. -

It can get complicated when registering a car that is titled in a different state as they all seem to have different requirements, usually envolving an inspection by a state inspector and each inspector has a different interpretation of the same rules. It is often time consuming and frustrating with no quick fix.
Since you bought it with jus…[Read more] -

I took the bill of sale showing my purchase of the car, along with the NY
state title to AAA today. They said a B.O.S. didn’t prove I had ownership of
the car. They advised the dealer gets a “dealers title” and then signs it over
to me. The dealer says the state wont do it because the VIN is only 6 digits
long. The dealer acts as if there’s…[Read more] -

Well, it would help if you would say what your problem is. What did the PA DMV have to say? I wouldn’t tell them about switching plates, thay take a dim view of that. I’d tell them that it’s a project that’s been in your garage and you want to be able to drive it.

Glad you decided to lengthen the driveshaft. If it didn’t let go right away, it would have vibrated like crazy and eventually cracked the transmission tail stock after wearing out the seal.
The rest of the work you are doing is amazing! You’ll be rewarded with a great ride.

Nice! How’s she sounding? If I were in your shoes, I don’t think I’d be able to resist taking a little spin before sending the driveshaft back.

Trying without any success to find a vacuum leak, I used a propane torch unlit, and when the motor increased RPMs I had the leak.

We got near enough to our price to let it go, and I made sure the new guy, Mike, knows that this is the place to come for great advice and encouragement. The Falcon came today, and while it needs a bit more work than we would have hoped for, it wasn’t that far from what we expected. We both think that our 3K budget is ample enough to make her shine…[Read more]
