Pete, you’re welcome,
Good question…I would think it would fit your trailer since they seem to crate stuff so tightly. It would even be worth the cost just to have all new spare parts for a Fiberfab.
I’ll maintain a watch just in case this one doesn’t work out.
Good luck!

James,
Thanks for the lead, I will check if it is still available….one of the frustrating things is that just earlier today I was trying all kinds of search strings, and didn’t find any kits listed. I have saved that site as a favourite. Ebay, Kijiji and Craigslist can all be difficult to search too. Will have to contact the local…[Read more] -

Groncher,
Take a look at this NY kit. It may still be available. It is just the kit for a VW based vehicle. Don’t know if getting the kit and building it in Canada would make a difference, or if you’re looking for turn-key.

Beautiful part of the country Dan.
I was in Cosby this summer with a group from my church, running a day camp at the Sunset Gap Community Center.
A bit of a haul from NJ for a one day car show tho! -

When I bought the car, it had been parked in a garage for way more hours than it had been driven. The battery would crank the car, but was old. I purchased a new battery and cables and the neg. cable bolted to a reinforced part of the floorpan. That ground is good. However I took for granted that the motor to floorpan ground was also good. Thanks…[Read more]

Sorry to speak out of place. I have owned both CMC kit and as with most peopleopinions can get you in trouble. I spent a long time finding my TD.
The problem is after seeing so many bad cars you tend to speak to generaly about other cars.
My only issue with baket wires is they rust and require upkeep, but the so do wire wheels.
I you take two…[Read more] -

Hi Mark,
Steel with TD caps is my preferred approach too.
But there has been a lot of chatter about wire baskets, wire wheels etc. But there are no sources for VW bolt pattern true wires. It seems TrueSpoke may be an option. All I would do is share that info with TrueSpoke.PMOSSBERG40065.9661111111 -

You could also have a bad battery. Try what Larry did first…a good braided ground strap.
For great VW info: http://www.thesamba.com
On VW’s with external regulators, weren’t most of them mounted to under the back seat on the driver’s side? On some of the generator models, it was on the generator.
I have a ’74 Beetle with an alternator and the…[Read more] -

I for one prefer steel wheels. $2,000 is a lot of $$ to spend on wheels. I guess the market is just not there anymore…unless you’re a low-rider.

Welcome Groncher. I read the other posts before it was moved here. If you want to know ANYTHING about Bill Collins “Angelica” you can ask me…I built the car and sold it to Bill. He’s made a few mods to the car since he got it, but nothing that really changed any of the basic build I did.
The car was originally assembled for me, but not to my…[Read more] -

Bill, Have you checked the electrical connections? Pay close attention to the ground connections. These fiberglass bodied cars are known for poor grounds since each electrical item must also have a ground wire to complete the circuit. The turn signals should blink and the horn blow even if the engine is not running at all as you should have 12…[Read more]

Thanks for the input. The generator on my MIGI is not putting out the full 14.2 volts, or I’d probably leave well enough alone. With the engine idiling, the turn signals will come on but will not flash until reving the engine. Same for the horn, it won’t honk at idle, but is nice and loud at higher RPMs. I’d rebuild the generator, but an…[Read more]

Paul,
I took your advice and have posted a message in the “MG TD Cars Wanted” section. Thanks for the feedback. I look forward to going in the Owner Registry too. It has been a lot of years since I first saw the Fiberfab ads in magazines and caught the bug. It has never left, just got sidetracked for a while. -

Groncher,
No need to close this thread. But I suggest you start a new thread under “MG TD Cars Wanted”.
Forum members or guests that are looking to sell a car or kit are likely to look in the “wanted” section to see if anyone here is looking for what they have to sell. They would probably miss that info if you only state it here.
We look forward…[Read more] - Load More
