Hi and welcome to the forum. Are you referring to a front engine replica? Ford or Chevette? My BCW Chevette based car uses the accelerator ,brake and clutch pedals from the Chevette but it is a very tight fit.It also uses the clutch and accelerator cables from the same car.

Check Speedway Motors in Nebraska. They still carry the old flat style wheels that were copies of the Bell flat track type wheels. They’re not nearly as attractive as the banjo wheel, but they are not as expensive either. Also check out some of their other items. I bought a momometer(round themometer) for the top of my Migi grille shell.

Rich, Thanks for the tip, can’t wait to try it.I have been frustrated that I can get good gloss with any number of waxpolishcleaner products as long as I am sighting down the side of the car or looking across the hood but the shine seems to go flat when viewed directly. From a distance it looks flat even when just polished.I have wondered if t…[Read more]

Here’s a website that sometimes has useful discount codes for many different retailers: http://www.retailmenot.com
It had a Rock Auto code good through yesterday.

All,
Beautiful day today. I took my dad (84 years old) for his first ride today. Made his whole day!, Mine too! He’s not in the best of health so I don’t know how many more opportunities like this are left. His memory fails him most of the time, but he swears he’ll remember that ride forever

Chuck,
Look on the Samba and type in steering wheel – should be a few that will fit the bill – wood ones as well.
Also on the bay – lots of nice used wood wheels – just type in wood steering wheels under the bay motors section.
I gave one away the other day or you would have had one.

Thanks for the help but I’m still stuck! All of the Grant wheels are dished to
some degree according to the online catalog. The Samba referenced wheel
looks good and appears to be zero-dish but I had my heart set on wood!Moss Motors has some great models that would look great but they are
Moto-lita style wheels with the rim mount from li…[Read more] -

There were a bunch of sites, most referencing back to the WindingRoad site. There is a license plate on it, but hard to read it. One site I read said it was “trailered” which doesn’t necessarily mean it IS a trailer. Now, since we’re talking miscellaneous VWs here..THIS is my idea of a VW Micro Bus:
The auction ended with no buyer…there are lots…[Read more]

I agree Paul. I think you hit the nail on the head with the leveling. It may perhaps use the type for RV’s. Some of the old MG’s used the Jackall system that raised the entire vehicle off the ground for wheel changing. I think that is so cool. If you could raise the car, then lock the jacks, it would be a nice security system too.
I think we…[Read more] -

I don’t know if he really levels it that way. But it makes sense to me. I read he has $8,000 in this thing! Could have built a decent MG for that!

My 2 cents says it’s the timming belt. They don’t jump persay. What generally happens is a few teeth on the belt break off and boom jumped timming.Routine maintenance on the belt drive motors is 30,000-50,000 miles. Most people will generally wait till the belt fails, but then there is usually more damage at that point. My advise if it is the…[Read more]
