Well into my restoration of a fiberfab MGTD on a 1971 beetle. I completely disassembled the car. I have a new engine (1600 dual port), new transmission and many new… -

Finally the car was delivered to its garage yesterday. I’m busy at work and haven’t been able to see it. Maybe I can see it this weekend.
The engine builder says it will have 100 to 120 hp, which is more than enough for this car. About 3 weeks ago, we thought it was going to be ready, except that the brakes failed on a test drive. We went wit…[Read more] -

We had another relapse where the Library, Gallery, History, and Member pages were reporting as “not found.” After a good night sleep, I remembered we had the same issue back in May. The same one button “fix” did the trick again. Which was in effect resaving WordPress’ permalink settings.
We are on the brink of an update from WordPress from v6.0.3…[Read more]

Prices are all over the board, dependent largely on condition. I’ve seen “ads” for running cars from $1,000 to over $10,000 and an occasional dreamer looking for close to $20k.
The dreamers are literally that; since one can find a decent original TD for $20k, there’s no reason to pay that for a reproduction.
For a nice, clean, running TDr which…[Read more]

I’m getting my Fiberfab MG on a VW chassis ready to be painted in a couple of weeks. I’d really like to replace the fender Welting, because it is really sad shape. While I’ve got the rear fenders off fairly easily, the running boards and front fenders are a problem that I do not see an easy solution for. Has anyone in this group found a way to…[Read more]

Looks like a Classic Motor Carriages or Fiberfab. It’s not a MiGi, Allison, Classic Roadsters Grand Duchess or BCW.
Looks like a nice viable car.

There is a serial number located on the engine case below the alternator stand. You can look up the serial number on Samba
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/bugchassisdating.php for the year of production. In some cases the chassis is not the same year as the engine. The serial number for the chassis is located on the hump in front of…[Read more] - Load More
