Says “replica” there at the top of the ad. Damn kit cars!
It is fascinating to me to see the way technology developed and then devolved from the 1920s through the ’50s. The P-type had an overhead cam, cross-flow head and supercharger, while the T was overhead valve head with intake and exhaust on the same side, and normally-aspirated.This despite… -

“[A]nd is a reproduction not a kit car.” That’s an interesting way of putting it.

The Moto Lita would be something of a gold standard. I’d love to see one like that on one of our cars.

Might as well get new bearings while you’re at it. The Muir book has detailed instructions on how to tap out the old races, and tap new ones in with a hammer, a piece of 2×4 and the right-sized socket. Obviously if you have a press you can use that.
I installed Empi disks just before Carlisle (mine came with the spindles; not sure what the… -

Here is the link to my steering wheel. (Warning: it is big. Mine is 17 inches across). This is a good repro of the Bluemels Brooklands wheel popular on 1940s TCs, ’50s TDs, Jags and Morgans of that era.
Smaller diameter ones are apparently available here–but you’ll have to make your own center hub. -

Great dash, John.
Regarding the steering column relief: The BCW cars have the column under the dash, so there was no need to fuss with that.To get the shape I bought a clapped-out original TD dashboard. I took my old dash and traced it on my new wood, then I put the TD dash on top and traced that. The final piece took some trimming as well. The good… -

When I did Bridget I decided to go with vinyl on panels in a lot of places the original kit had carpet. I did this to get the car closer to what the TD looked like originally. Here’s a blog post on some of that.
Similarly, I went with the stock TD gauge placement, as far as possible. It’s a very good layout, IMHO, with the speedo and tach dead… -

Mine came with a pretty good stereo. I took it out because I seldom listened to it and preferred the look of an original-type glovebox door. And the glove box, of course.

Awesome job, Steve. And now you know how to sweat fittings! These cars make a man of everyone who owns them.

That same 4bolt pattern runs into the early 90’s until they went to a 5 bolt. Availability in 14″, 15″ and 16″.There’s a lot of options out there. Have you checked Tire Rack or other wheel outlets? You can get 5 bolt rotors that fit the spindles and as you dont have a rear axle yet, you could get a 5 bolt axle easier than a 4.

edward ericson replied to the topic Clutch cable replacement in the forum VW Based Kits 10 years, 5 months ago
Turn the wing nut until the pedal give you about 3/4 inch free play before engaging the clutch. Assuming the pedal assembly is still good–that the “hook” part isn’t broken, the attachment isn’t cracked or anything–that should give you decent clutch. You can fine tune it further from there if needed.
I found that i had to turn the wingnut a lot… -

Allison for sure. The dash (see the color of it? And the glove box door?), the side curtains (one plug-in per side–which is one more than most replicas, and one less than an original TD), the windshield, the round ’53-style tail lights. All Allison-unique.
That looks like a real nice one too, but wth is he doing with the hood, displaying it like that? - Load More
