edward ericson replied to the topic FiberFab TD – fuel issues? in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 12 years, 2 months ago
Crud in the gas tank blocks the fuel line. If you can take the tank out and dump the crud out & clean it, maybe coat the inside with one of the POR 15 -type tank liners, you’ll be good to go.–Actually, you might want to consider replacing the rubber/neoprene bits of your fuel line as well.If you can’t take out the tank, you might get away with…[Read more]

I actually tried the online quote two ways–one in which I admitted occasional drives to work and to get errands, but no “timed events.” Then I tried again with “timed events” included. Same price. Upping the deductible from $250 to $500 took me from like $635 down to like $580 or so.
I put in $10k for the “agreed value.”Looks like my input got… -

yes. Front engine it’s common because of the small footwell. VW-based there are autosticks.
There was a real TD for sale in PA a while back that had been converted to automatic with a more modern engine (Chevette, perhaps?). It was nicely done but was not attracting a lot of praise on the MG boards. -

Just got an online quote from them. Very close to $600 for the car, with a $500 deductible and 3500-mile annual limit. So, again, hat’s off to you, Mr. Mossberg. Screaming deal.
Too bad they’re not doing it anymore. -

Well bought, those brackets.

Those look good. They are rare & expensive, and I’ll guess they’ll finish up over $250, and I would consider anything under $300 a good deal.
Moss has reproductions for $250 each. Bolts not included.edsnova2013-08-04 13:39:26

Eddy–and all–I stepped in and edited your posts to make your links live. You see they show up blue now? That means anyone can just click on them to go to that web site.
You can do this too–and you don’t even need to put the url (http://blah blah) as text in your message. All you need to do is highlight any text you want to turn into a link,… -

My BCW has about an 1/8 to 3/16 inch fiberglass thickness throughout. It’s fairly sturdy & nicely detailed–fold down windshield, for example, and the fake TD “hood latches” down low without visible latches high on the hood. It’s about 3-inches longer than a TD, but it lacks the engine room that most other kits have.
Top kits to me appear to be the… -

For example, in the classifieds there is an unbuilt Duchess and 95% Fiber Fab. Same price. Kit, I can do it my way, but how do I know what is the right way? Most all of you have done modifications or tweaks or changed after the build. The modifications and tweaks are to personalize and/or custom fit the vehicle in ways that please us, the owners.…[Read more]

Like I said, the guy who put mine together in ’82 had driven it since ’66, about 10 of those years on a 30-minute commute. Said he did maybe 120k on it, then put in new bearings (no stinking line bore), new jugs kit & it ran it in various other projects for another many years–he figures another 80,000. Refreshed again for the TD and did 30 k…[Read more]
