Not sure what you’re saying. Post a photo?My general advice is to put the biggest banjo wheel on it you can fit. But I think everyone already knows that; it’s actually my answer to pretty much every problem.

Sorry for you troubles, man. The condition of the car sounds fairly typical, really. They all have pitting chrome, dried out bushings and need brakes.Hope you find one that’s all done–or at least at a price that’s reasonable.  

Marine stuff is sometimes thicker and stronger. They even make “gold plated” ones but for $7 a terminal color me skeptical.

You should be able to do better, Don. I’d say 2-3 inches less column is possible.This is a “classic” (3-bolt) Grant to a Ford Pinto/ Mustang II column, right?This ebay listing looked promising until I realized that the photo is the same as my VW adapter. I think it’s mislabeled. But something like this must exist for your column.

Moss has a kit now. Back in the day, there were two or three major aftermarket kits. Shorrock and Judson are the two I remember.
