    @currenttoy

Thanks to all for your great ideas.

    yes it was the ground.

    Break that did not show

Was stiff and wrapped with electrical tape near bottom.

moving it out of the way to remove battery to recharge was too much for the old wires.

    Replaced and started right up.

Thanks again for all the help with this.  Great bunch of Guys.

Tks, that is another place to check.

Like all us big kids, none of us are happy when our toys are broken.

Kmart has a shelter with a door.  too large for the area I would need it to fit.

Looking at the champer – could you just use any small metal can/box and put some holes in the top and glue on a magnet?  Then just buy the oil or put in the mothballs.  Mine also sits out with only a cover and I am watching all the responses to see what I can do to make sure I do not come out; take off the cover, to find a raccoon living in mine.

Thank you, yes I have the book.  I did not use it the first time when I messed up the adjustment – used directions off net.  Now using the book. Dont know if I should just get used to the sound.

Thank you one and all. I did a valve adjustment.  Ellitchka was running rough – very much 1,2,3.4-sounding.

I used the info from Samba to try an adjustment for for first time- took about 2 hours. I really messed it up. When I drove it was clacking and and very loud. Quickly parked. I Went back to the Muire Book and found that my TCD mark was off. I re-adjusted- took only about 45 min- now that I had been there. I found that some were off with very wide gap.  After this second adjustment she started with a very deep, smoother 1,2,3.4  and sounds great.  The most I have done for cars in the past is replace a radiator or replace valve cover gaskets. Guess tune up might be the next attempt.  Again, thank you for this Group.

That is from the same company that produced  mine in Houston Tx. An Empress I. I do not have the pin strips and not sure that  I have the same number of snaps on the sides.

Thank you all for the welcome

The car was built in Texas. Motor is in the rear and looks like a Duchess. But I do not remember it saying that on the plaque mounted under the hood.  It has the bump at the fender not smooh like the Fiber.

I am in Atlanta.  Hard to find someone to work on it.

I found one place that I am using and it came highly rated on internet, but still not sure. I do have a friend that her brother was head of all the service at a large VW Dealership here and hope he might hook me up with a retired mechanic that can work on it.

Thank you again for the welcome     So many posts and great ideas here.
