What feeds the hot-ignition side of your fuse box?
(By memory; grain of salt) my car has battery + running to the big starter lug, Battery – bolted to the frame and feeding a grounding buss under the dash. Fat red 10g + wire from battery to the key switch at 30, then two wires that test + go from that. The key-on + wire goes to the fuse box to…[Read more]

Weird that it broke. Why would a pulley bolt break while just driving?

Hey Dave, welcome. To post a photo look to the upper right corner of your screen where it says “howdy, Dave.” Put your cursor on that and you get a drop-down menu. The bottom thing is “Media.” Hover over that and you’ll get another menu. The middle choice is “Photos.”
Click it.
That will bring you to a new page. It says “options” and…[Read more]

Glad you found it! Accessing the MC on these cars can be tricky and it’s also true that there as many styles of rig connecting the pedal to the MC as there are TDr manufacturers. My BCW uses a custom length pushrod. I’ve seen some that use two full set of pedals, with the one under the driver’s foot connected to the one at the original VW location…[Read more]

Ground (GND) to ground. Positive (red, +) to key switched +. Lights are a + wire from the dash lights or the headlight switch. Finally the green or signal wire goes to the negative (-) terminal on you coil. done.

edward ericson replied to the topic Broken Fuel Line in the forum MGTD Kit Cars 4 years, 2 months ago
I did not replace my in-tunnel line but when I installed the Subaru engine I ran new fuel injection hard lines front to back—fuel and return. Since I was not taking the body off the pan I ran the lines through the interior of the car low on the passenger side of the tunnel.
Shocking? Well, actually, that is how Subaru did it:
I ripped out t…[Read more]

edward ericson replied to the topic Has anyone converted to a MG TD Windshield? in the forum General Discussion 4 years, 2 months ago
Adapting the CMC frame and glass to the MG fold-down mounting system is probably doable but will also probably entail quite a bit more labor than you at first would think. If you do it, by all means document your process!
Adapting the CMC folding top to the MG pin-and-clamp header support would undoubtedly be even trickier.

My car came with a TD-like windscreen. It is very similar to an original but not quite the same size—slightly narrower, as I recall. My car’s scuttle did not have the molded-in “plinths” for an extended windshield frame, If yours does have those, you’d have to shave them and reshape the scuttle for the MG windshield mount. Then you (probably) h…[Read more]

Well there’s another Carlisle show in the history books. The weather was perfect and I think most of us had a pretty good time. It was great to see Bill and Audrey with their new (two years old to them) green machine, and Bill Ascheman with his race MG’s cooling problems sorted.
It was also great to meet Gary and Doreen Wilson of upstate New…[Read more]
