  • Merry Christmass to you and the family Joe. Are U going to help Santa deliver presents in that wonderful Red TDr Sleigh of yours? Enjoy the time with the family. DaveLakeland, Fl

  • I am trying again to post a pic of a luggage rack to show everyone pics of Herbie. I hope this comes through. Paul my apologies if I posted about a luggage rack here, instead of on that topic. I am just learning how to post pics from my ipadTks   Davehttps://flic.kr/p/BNXg4Gdavearoy2015-12-19 21:40:29

  • Ok here I go again to try and up load another picture from Flickr, to our web site. This luggage rack is a design I came up with. I did not want to drill any holes in Herbie’s body. My car is a Duchess so the engine opens backwards, and the luggage rack clears the bumper. Made from 1/2″ electrical conduit, and scrap lumber from Hm Depot. I will…[Read more]

  • WOW! Your car really “Pops” Joe, y all did a great job. Did you repaint the car? The red color really is sharp on your TD. I hope you got the pics of Herbie, I sent to your email. My Yahoo email has been kinda screwy lately, maybe not.Dave

  • Joe tks for ur post. If you would send me your email address to my IM on this site, I will send you some pics of my complete restoration of Herbie. I have an iPad and it will not up load pics to TDr.com. The only problem is finishing the small details on my car, because living in Florida, I rarely put the top up, and drive it almost every day. 😛 Dave

  • Joe you should be proud of your build. I sounds like you have spend a whole bunch on your project. The only problem with these TDr’s, is there is a dollar price point of “diminishing returns” on our investment. Like you I have spent a bunch to $ to restore my Classic Roaster Dutchess. I know it will become one of my pass on legacies to my grand…[Read more]

I replaced my floor pans but it took awhile to complete my project, as I did a complete frame, engine, body, and new dash wiring, Complete restoration. I built a in garage hoist out of 4×4 timbers, with 1×2 angle support arms. I used a Cable Come a Long from Harbor Freight Tools, to lift the body off. I have some great pics to share, but my iPad…[Read more]

  • Paul my thought is to make a similar “Tire Step” design, using 1/2″ Steel Tube Electrical Conduit, and stain the wooden slats for the fold down base, to match my dash and steering wheel. I do not like drilling holes in my cars Fiberglass, so my design will hang on the tire, like the Tire Step. I should have a rough design by mid week. Dave

  • Steve what a creative, thoughtful, and functional home made Luggage Rack. I hope you did not patenet your idea, as I plan on using your plans, and modifying them to fit my VW powered Classic Roadster. My engine cover folds back, with the tire still attached. My wife says it is to late to go to Home Depot this Friday night, but man oh man, you got…[Read more]

  • MG Magic sells what they call slightly blemished bumpers as “seconds”. I bought one earlier this Spring. They charged me less then $100, plus shipping. They only have them so very often, but it is worth the question to them. I had to look very hard to see the blemish on the one I got, and some quality rubbing compound, helped to clear it up.Just a…[Read more]
