Its not at all a cost saving unless you hire someone to do the pages. It’s really about time. I just don’t have the time or desire like I did 10 years go when I started this.
Paul, we could make topics with links to any of the pages you feel should be kept. Heck, you can just make a link to the “old” site and post it on the forums. I would not delete any of the pages if the group feels the are of use and need saving.
If some one familiar with making and maintains HTML pages has the time and software, and you trust them FULL access to the core that is this site, someone else can take over the duties.
I was just thinking that the Forums provide the best interactive experience for users and outdated unkept HTML pages my lead visitor to think this group isn’t active anymore.

Good to know I’ve narrowed down the root cause… Finding the fix may not be so easy. I will keep everyone posted…February 6, 2014 at 7:19 pm #259572Ok… below the reply box are two check boxes.

This should open it in MS Paint. If you are using Win7 there is a button on top that says “Resize” If not Win7, I think it’s under the Veiw or Edit tab of paint. You can select % i.e if you enter 50 x 50 it will reduce it by 50% both in height and width. Or you can select pixels. Just make sure you save them with a different name so you can keep you larger pics as once you reduce them, you can’t blow them up or zoom them and get the same clarity.
May 3, 2012 at 9:24 am #250404Thanks everyone. My work has me travel quite a bit. Last year I went to Japan, Guam, Belgium, France, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Germany, Hawaii, Las Vegas, California, Colorado, Korea and probably a place or two that I’m forgetting. It will be nice to take the family with me and being their first time out of the U.S. and fist time to the Ocean, other than a day trip to Corpus Christi with now swimming involved. We plan to do a ton of snorkeling and I hope to have they try their hand at a dive or two. This is going to be a much needed family bonding experience for us.
BTW, I was just up in San Angelo Tx and saw a TD build on a VW chassis. Didn???t get up close or talk to the drive (we were going opposite directions) but was awesome to see him out on the road with it.

How do I find mine to upload photos there, or do all the photos you post on the messages in the forum automatically go there?Any picture you upload, goes to your gallery. Paul posted a link to your gallery earlier in this thread but here it is again: https://tdreplica.com/forum2/gallery/browse.asp?dir=14731
May 2, 2012 at 2:38 pm #250288mrlmd wrote:Thanks for finding the problem – it may have been the extra characters in the title or name of the picture? That really shouldn’t matter, it’s just a link to the file on my computer isn’t it?Once you upload the pic it’s stored on our web server so it’s not linked to your computer. As with anything computer related, sometimes software can’t tell the difference between what’s code and what’s just a file name. I suspect this was the case but want to be 100% sure.
Try uploading another picture (with a simple name) and posting it here. I want to make sure YOU can post not just have me edit them and they show up. I’m not going to sleep well until we know 100% that was the problem.
May 2, 2012 at 2:10 pm #250284I think Paul is on the right track.
I changed the file name to test.jpg and it showed up fine when I edited your post to reflect the new name. Try uploading a simple file with a simple name and attach it in a post. I suspect that it has something to do with special characters in file name.
I also edited the file name of the other pic you uploaded. I took the # and – out of the name and it now shows up fine in your preview.FrankieD2012-05-02 14:12:43

Google is no help with this.I don’t think it’s your computer either. It may be something with the forum software and the combination of OS and browser.
Once you upload the picture, it shows up in the box on the right side. from there, do just click the OK button on the bottom right side or do you make any other changes in the box?How many pictures to you see in the list from your online folder? Can you select any of the other pictures (already uploaded) and insert them into a post?May 2, 2012 at 12:05 pm #250279I just uploaded this pic. I see other’s are also able to upload pics. Is it just the two members having problems? I see mrlmd is using Firefox on a Mac, smitty, what browser and OS are you using? Are you gettting the exact same error code?

February 24, 2012 at 8:59 am #249410It’s was in the 80’s and sunny here the past two days and Roxie would have been a blast to drive to work
with that kinda weather.
Only a hight of 60 today, just in time for the weekend. I guess I need to get out there and get the Thing tuned up so I can drive it before the summer heat gets here making it too hot to drive anything without A/C.As far as lights, I’ve found that a nice set of driving lights do the trick. I don’t know that a sealed beam headlight can ever be as good as those on our modern cars.February 22, 2012 at 4:40 pm #249266Just to follow up, is anyone have any problems with getting the photo’s they’ve uploaded? I assume since I didn’t get any bashing or PM’s with hate mail most everyone is happy with the work I’ve accomplish thus far.
I still planning on working out some form of gallery that everyone can browse eachothers photos just been busy trying to get some security loopholes close so the SPAM BOTS keep their trash out but the photo gallery is on my to do list.February 17, 2012 at 6:36 pm #249264FOLDERS ARE UPLOADED.
If you had upload pictures before the forum update, they should be in your uploaded image folder. Just click on theicon and you should see a list of them. If you highligh it, it should show up in the preview box.
Please let me know if you have any issues view them.AGAIN, there is no gallery to view eachother pictures unless the owner of the picture posts it in a thread. I’m going to work on that and will let everyone know what I come up with.FrankieD2012-02-17 18:39:19
February 17, 2012 at 4:48 pm #249263If you are using the quick reply at the bottom the the thread, it’s not there. You have to click on the reply option in another post and you will get the full menu above the box you type in.
The post image button now looks like this. Click it and it will open a new window for posting a pic either from the web ( you need to know the url), from a list of pics you already uploaded, or you can upload a new image.
As I’m typing this, I’m uploading the everyones pics the had uploaded before. Estimated remaining time: about 1 day LOL. It shouldn’t be too much longer and they will appear in the list box when you click that tree icon button.I still have to work out something to browse those pic folders. Guess I need to brush up on some Java and get to coding.February 17, 2012 at 3:34 pm #249260I’ve got a two page list of users who logged in since april of 11 and I’ve downloaded all the users folders from the old forum.
I’m going to start renaming them to the new numbering scheme and will get some uploaded.I let everyone know when they get uploaded.Once all the files are moved and renamed, I will look into a script of software to get a gallery going again. We may need to manual add links in our sig lines since I don’t know that I can mod the new version of software without voiding the lic we just purchased. I will research it some more once I get things moved around.February 16, 2012 at 9:18 pm #249232Click on the the Tree icon (insert image).
A new window will open
Click on “Choose File” near bottom left of the new window and browse your computer for the pic you want to use.
Click on “Upload” and the file will be uploaded.
Make sure it’s no bigger the 500k. Resize only makes it size down to fit the forum screen window and not shrink the file size. You can easily shrink pics down with paint but make sure you rename the file if you want to keep the larger (higher res) file as once you shrink it, you can’t blow it back up and keep the high res.
February 16, 2012 at 4:16 pm #249228Turned on auto resize and tested again.
February 16, 2012 at 3:52 pm #249197WE HAVE BEEN UPGRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By upgraded I mean to say, full license. You will now see the Chat room adn Events (Calender) links in the menu up top. We can also store more private messages and users can upload photo’s that will automaticly be resized to fit the forums!!!FrankieD2012-02-16 15:58:19

One time cost and I will update the poll to reflect that.
