Thanks Bill,
Stainless is a great idea. I should have about 2 inches between the cat and glass to work in a shield. Thanks,

I got to spend the day with the car installing my new top and side curtains
. I looked under the car and I have an area with plenty of room for a cat. It actually appears to have had one before because there is a section of tail pipe spliced in that is about the length of a cat. I probably need to have some sort of heat shield between the…[Read more]

Ringo,
Memphis goes with the year on the title. I did find a great video about the converter. This at least helps me understand how it works.

I’m with Mel.
My MGTD adventures started about 25 years later in my life than yours. Geoff, you have much longer to enjoy your MGTD, well at least 25 years or more to get to the point I am now. Mine didn’t start until I was 53, enjoy and benefit from our wisdom (and our mistakes that built that wisdom). I wish I had my MGTD when I was in my…[Read more] -

OH NO…..I didn’t think of that either.
Mel, Florida may be a bit chilly this June.
My wife is a 1955 model, so I was safe ordering a 53 plate, I am a 1953 model.

Rich,
Rich,
I can write a check for several, just before I dash over the border.
Here is a mount for a cam

Looks like you would have to do a bunch of videos to justify the purchase.

James Cochran replied to the topic Moving Seats Back in the forum General Discussion 16 years, 4 months ago
Rich,
I use AutoCAD 2006 LT.
I forgot to mention that the seats do fit tight into the car and taper toward the front, and the seat belts also hold us and the seats in the car. I never adjust the angle of the main backrest, so the hinge is really not needed in my case
I had thought of using sharp pins sticking up from the floor board to not only…[Read more] -

Montie,
I would hesitate to cut the tub, but I know what you mean about the tightness of the compartment. Driving my car is part of my diet plan
I am right at 6 foot tall and reconfigured my cockpit area. I lowered the seat bases by making new carpet covered wood boxes that slope down toward the back of the car. I used 2×4 material to make the b…[Read more] -

Ringo,
Let me know if you figure something out. I had thought of a helmet cam, but the video would be moving around too much as you’re looking around. I was then thinking of spring mounting just inside the windshield so the wind doesn’t hit the mike. I looked at a tripod between the seats, but ruled that out.

LOL
Rich, I just noticed something as I was admiring your TD. Your headlight mounts. They are like the real deal mounts rather than the Fiberfab metal straps. I have thought of replacing mine with ones like yours. Did you switch or were they on the TD already? I love them. They really look great. I keep running your trip in my mind and…[Read more] -

Thanks for passing this information on. I rarely see these for sale on ebay. I assume this grill will work for both front and rear engine models.

I wondered also.
I like it because it conveys a message that the big powerful engine needs more room for all those horses……I guess the small bump is more like a pony stall though

…..unobtainium $$$$$$!!….A new term for my dictionary, I love it, had to catch my breath from laughing.
I hope Mel’s bumper is stronger than my bumper. Day one, my car rolls ever so gently against my carport center post, with a light tap, the bumper vee’d dead center. I removed the bumper and took a section of a tree branch with the…[Read more] -

Online purchase it is….no more street vendor jacked up price for me. I think he hit me up for like 15 bucks
at the car show, but that’s to be expected.
I went to this website

It can be used for plastics also. It really is amazing and better than Wenol.

Autosol – Edel-Chromglanz
Chrom-u, Metallpflege
Dursol-fabrik Solingen 19 West Germany
The most amazing stuff I have ever used. Comes in a tube like toothpaste. A dot will polish an area of about 3″ square to a mirror finish. Mill finish aluminum can look like triple plated chrome in seconds. I can’t remember the cost, but it was not cheap. I a…[Read more] - Load More
