I used “Gunk” degreaser for the bottom of the engine. This took 26 years of oil and dirt . It smell much better. There is” Gunk” cleaner a foamy spray .. too. That should make it shiny. Also while I was at it ..I did some proactive maintence in the trunk/ hood area..(Scary!) -

Thx Roy,Exactly my thoughts on running the engine cooler.Gettting all the accumulated oil/dirt off lower engine will keep it running cooler .Thx again Roy

Parts for the chevette are harder to find than VW. The VW versions are
more practical for a person like me
And a V8 has no similiarty to the orginal TD. Imho -
