Glad to hear you got yours ready for welding Allen. A Tig job would look sweet, but a steady hand on a Mig would be fine too. I have recently picked up a wicker picnic basket I plan to strap on to my rack. How do you plan to finish yours? Paint, powder coat or chrome?

I checked the tire mounting on my car and it was like I had thought. A flat bar under the cover with two studs coming thru the cover that the spare goes on. Newkitman..when i bought my car already assembled someone had put an empi trigger shift in it. The shifter was the tall one , 15″ I think is the designation. I hated it and put the empi 12″ trigger shift in it. I would think the stock VW shifter would be fine.

Paul I am really confused as to why there is so little throttle room. My assembly bolts directly to the tunnel as it should and is solid with no play or slack.
