Aluminum foil or a brillo pad, even fine steel wool works for removing rust. I don’t think it will do much for scratches though, might even make it worse.

Greg the only way I can put pictures in my post is to do the old right click on the mouse copy and paste thing. I even have to do that for the little smiley faces.
yep still works if the wacko face is showing

Ed, if you have space above your garage door here is what I did to get a little more space for storage.

Haven’t done it yet. But have been wanting too. Waiting for the bucks. I think it will be an expensive conversion, also don’t want the car to be disabled for a lengthy time span. I would like to gather the parts up and do most of the work before disassembly. Hopefully just trading the parts off and on the car. I know it won’t be that easy,…[Read more]

Amazing talent! We had a group of pin stripers at a car show, these guys were great. The sharpie guys bring a whole new art into play. Anyone doing them in color?

Mine must be the European model, leg room on passenger side is longer. Go figure, should-a put the steering on that side.

Good idea. Now if someone can come up for space for the left leg/foot. I have always had my knee bent and foot tucked under the right leg. One reason I’m glad I have an automatic. Not sure how you other sasquatches do a clutch.

Mine is a small hydraulic bottle jack. Takes up less space under the seat.

I looked into doing mine with a trap door behind the seats. Decided against it, mine has a couple braces (part of the frame) in the way to allow much access. Still planning on something, probable access behind the spare tire and luggage rack. (Nicely done Court Wizard) Mostly I just want a clean dry space for the side curtains and tonne…[Read more]

No real thoughts, mine is the 2.3 Ford instead of the VW. I need an oil change and was going to try the Royal Purple this time due to the high ZDDP. I’ve always used regular 10-40 Pennzoil with a high zinc additive. With everyone talking about older engines needing the zinc, I thought I’d go with something better. We only put 2000 to 3000…[Read more]

Greg, any reason you used 20 50 over 10 40 or 15 40? Just curious?

Roy, I bet Ed wishes we all were closer. Between all of us we could get a real “Rube-Goldberg” system going. Lets see in BEER time estimate between 18 and 24 beers, right.

Just a thought here
, has anyone thought about how strong the water pump needs to be. It may not be able to push the coolant the distance. Maybe adding a 12 volt bilge bump from a boat in the system (or at least to get the air pumped through). When we put a Ford Cortina engine in a Baha bug (30 plus years ago) we mounted the radiator as part o…[Read more]
