Is the crankcase vent open? Sounds like excessive pressure in the crankcase. (Not the same thing as oil pressure.)

Thank you, the link worked just fine.

Did anyone notice how ergonomic that microphone holder was? The guy on the bicycle didn’t have much time to react to the approach of the “under 175 MPH” auto did he? Why were the bicycles on the course anyway? Is LeMans run on public roads?

Did anyone notice the windshield frame on the first one? It looks like it is made of wood. The hood seems to be hinged at the back on that one too.

No offense taken. I was just letting my thoughts be heard. It seems that it is getting harder to even buy a good donor car for a reasonable figure any more. This is a complete car in operating condition… I don’t know what the overall mechanical condition is but it is worth a look if someone is interested in the hobby.

I still think that if someone was looking for a completed VW based TD replica, this would not be the worst example they could buy for the $4500. Who knows? Maybe they had always wanted one and now have the money to buy a reasonably priced (IMHO) car. The basic car still looks pretty good to me ‘cuz mine is not assembled yet.
