As you can tell from my car, I also prefer the steel wheel with an MG style hubcap. And wires were never a factory option for the original MG TD.
But to each his own! And for those looking for wires, Truspoke also makes them. The wheels on this page may fit Ford or Checy bolt patterns:

You have a beautiful car regardless of what you decide Ringo! And I know it’s none of my business, but I vote for the blackwalls…the black body, black tires look great to me.

We’re just tougher here in the north! Or perhaps crazy.
I read today the “real feel” temperature (that’s with the wind chill factor) in Bismarck North Dakota on Wednesday was 52 degrees below zero.NJ will be about a zero with the wind chill this weekend. Heck, that’s down right balmy by comparison!

That is pretty cool Doug. How do you charge it up? And how long must it be on the charger to go from dead to full charge?

Thanks for the photos Will, of the Volvo and your e-brake work.
I’m sure you are fully aware of this, but it bears mentioning anyway…when you weld in those new pans…remember there is a fuel line running along the bottom of that center tunnel, usually along the right side of the tunnel.PMOSSBERG40185.0070717593

Great news Will. My Duchess has a bench seat so moving the e-brake is not an option. But I look forward to your pics anyway. Always more to learn.
And I know the Volvos well. I learned to drive on a 1966 122 station wagon. And I currently own a 2009 S80, 2009 C70, 1999 S80 and 1996 850. The first two are my and my wife’s daily drivers. The old…[Read more] -

I’ve managed with the e-brake up there under the dash. But moving it is a good idea.
The only comment I have is on Ed’s comment that he would be cutting an 8 to 10 inch square hole, then welding it up later.
That tunnel IS the strength of your chassis. Especially…ESPECIALLY since we’ve removed the steel VW body. Please try to minimize the…[Read more] -

Great shot Richard. That drive will be a great memory. The first time I ever drove my TD, it snowed. I had spent nine months building it and didn’t care that it was the middle of December, with snow in the forecast. Sure ‘nuf, about a half hour into the debut drive, the snow started.

I’m surprised an alignment shop is asking YOU for the wheel alignment specifications. But if you need to find out for yourself, Chilton manuals, like the used book in here will have the info.If you really cannot find the Pinto specs, I agree with the above posters that recommended you start with the Mustang II specs.I respectfully disagree with…[Read more]
