It’s off topic, but for our Florida friends thinking of towing to Carlisle, stay tuned to the forum!
Our friends in the Speedster Owners Group organize caravans from various points in the country. There is always a “a southeast” caravan.
Ed or I, or maybe Bill, will share details in the Clubs and Shows section as those trips get organized!

My kit came with an original MG TD style dash mirror.
This one (note the mounting base, the picture is shown with the mirror rotated 90 degrees.

I could not see a thing, as the adjustment range was very limited.
I replaced it with this, which is ball mounted and has a very wide adjustment…[Read more]

Welcome aboard! And wow! That’s a heck-of-a list of questions.
At this point, I don’t believe manufacturer of the original kit weighs in too much. Build quality and condition are likely more important. that said, there is a manufacturer comparison thread here:

Keep the greasy side down and the rubber on the road! I look forward to a positive report!

First, I ‘m very sorry for your loss.
Well…I hate to give pricing estimates (beauty and price are in the eye of the buyer, to coin a phrase), here goes.
I’ve recently been seeing more and more ads in the $8k to $10k range. But those are asking prices, not selling prices.
While I do hope the sellers get what they want (as that helps us all,…[Read more]

Thanks Stephen.
Yup. I deleted about 30 obviously scam user id’s this afternoon. and another fifteen that never made it past pending.
I also activated ten older registrants that never successfully activated their id’s.
Appreciate all you do for us!

Hi Bob
Dang, that’s a nice looking car. From the one side picture, it sure looks like an original TD. Top, curtains, engine cover side panels, rear tank, tank supports…are all looking spot on. You sure that’s a Chevette drivetrain? LOL!
Not sure CarFax will be much help with replica vehicles.

Hi,
The roofs are slightly different between manufacturers. so the dimensions for one brand may not work for another.
What company manufactured your kit?

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Positive or negative ground in the forum VW Based Kits 7 years, 3 months ago
For the USA market, VW switched to 12v with the 1967 model year.
Chances are high it’s a 12 volt, negative ground.
This sounds obvious, but you say there is a battery; is it in the car? Is there a ground strap on the battery? Which pole?
Looks at the bulbs. If they are 12v bulbs, you have a 12 volt, negative ground system.
