Or you can contact Denny’s Drive Shafts and he will make you a drive shaft at a reasonable cost and also guide you through the measurement process and matchup of the trans and rear end. I used him for my Cobra as have many others.Sam

1946 Ford tudor. My first car. Bought it from the guy across the street from my parents home who bought it new right after WWII. Blew a piston right after I bought it so had to put in a new flat head short block and then drove it to college. Also, later my Aunt had a 1940 Ford tudor that she had owned since new that she offered to sell me, but I…[Read more]

I also replaced my gas tank with one like pictured in the link above. I think there is a pic of my effort in a post somewhere on this site. I talked to a weld shop about shortening the filler neck and he wanted about $120 if I recall correctly and somebody here suggested a muffler shop, so I took it there and they cut it and rewelded it per my…[Read more]

Sadly I had to cancel my reservations today. We are not going to be able attend as planned. I have been trying to get to this show for years and this year would have been an opportunity to also meet the TDr crew and check out your cars and steal some ideas for getting mine back on the road. Maybe next year. Have a great time and post lots of pics.Sam

Richard, just catching up on the post here. This will be my first visit to the show (I’ve been wanting to come for years) and a chance to catch up with the TDr bunch even though I’ll be with out a ride (my TDr is awaiting some much needed work) . The wife and I would like to join the group Fri. night if I’m not too late with a response. What ca…[Read more]

Wasn’t sure I was going to make it. The wife was having foot problems and had to wear a surgical boot on her foot. She spent most of her time sitting under a tree that was behind where the 1926 MG and the Talbot Lago was parked.

Paul, sounds like a fantastic trip. I’m sure you will enjoy it. I can’t wait for the GP season to start. I’ve been a fan since 1957 when Fangio made his epic drive in a Maserati at the Nurburgring (sp?).

John, on the larger holes you can also get some fiberglas matt (might find some at Wal Mart or a boating store) and coat it with epoxy and place it on the underside of the hole and then after it dries mix up some epoxy and then cut up some very small pieces of the matt and mix it into the epoxy and then fill the hole. This will give it some extra…[Read more]

Bill, I’ll make a point of passing this “thought” along to her and also make sure you get introduced to her at Carlisle so she can have a one on one discussion about this with you. Good luck….

Ok. So since I won’t have a car and be going on any of the cruises, it looks like all I need to do is get resrv. at the Courtyard and get tickets to the show.

Schu, a couple of things…one the Cobra is still in the break in phase with only 170 miles on it to date and second, (and most important) the wife would not be up for that long a road trip in an open car.Sam

Ok. The wife and I are going to be in DC the week of Carlisle and are thinking of driving over for Fri and Sat. Based on the info above it looks like what I need to do for hotel resrv. is call the Courtyard and tell them I’m with the Speedster group and I should be able to get reservs. Correct? I won’t be bringing the TDr as I just finally was…[Read more]

A friend who has several cars in storage said to use liquid peppermint to keep mice out. It might work for cats as well and smells a lot better.
