So far so good-dryer sheets in multiple locations and no evidence of new
squirrel infestation for the last week. I will keep my fingers crossed and my
dryer sheets in place. Thanks again for all the good suggestions. -

Still lots of interesting ideas. I really don’t button it up as I try to drive it a couple of times a week at least. I have put in some dryer sheets and will report back in a week or so.

I live in rural eastern NC and my property is several acres of woodlands. I
fear I may be on wrong end of a catch and release program. I have eaten
squirrel stew but it is not one of my favorites to say the least. The nearest
storage rental units are quite a distance from me but that may be the best
final solution. In the meantime I will try the…[Read more] -

Thanks guys, I will wet sand with 2500 grit paper and see how it goes. Always looking for a faster method, but know that nothing replaces good old elbow grease

Thanks, these products are marketed for restoring fiberglass on boats. The claim is that they may last for up to a year without return of the white oxidation spots. I have used the Mcguiars products but it seems that white spots show up in a matter of weeks.

Title finally arrived from NC DMV. Title reads 1952 MGTD replica. So now I am fully street legal. On another note, where my gel coat was badly oxidized I sanded it with 2500 grit wet paper and buffed it out with Mcguiars polish. So far white spots have not returned.

thanks again for the valuable information. It gives me a good place to start. Hope to have my TD inspected in the next day or so. The procedure in NC is quite convoluted for a “reconstructed car from out of state” Wish me luck. Thanks again tom

I have read in several places about the tire pressure differential to improve handling and i assume it is necessary due to the weight difference in the VW powered cars. My question is: Is there a ratio front to rear pressure that occurs frequently? By this I mean that I understand that each car will differ but is there a logical or experiential…[Read more]

Paul, many thanks. Your description of the heater cables matches what I see and there are air ducts under both seats. I have owned a 61 beetle and a 71 minivan but had not seen these levers before.
