NYT on VT road work. They should’ve called the Wobbinator for some straight talk, and maybe a guided tour in the Allison.

Alden America makes an adjustable coil over that is a direct bolt in replacement for the original Mustang II shock. The coil springs can be custom tailored for whatever ride you desire. I use a 500# springfor auto-crossing. At it’s highest setting she corners flat. On it’s softest setting it’s actually a rather mushy ride. Ride height is also…[Read more]

MGLR, You are right , the coilover shocks do not interfere with the tow bar. However,if the car has the coilover shocks mounted at an angle, that would be a clear indicator that it did not have VW suspension and that the tow bar would need to be modified to fit.

My wife and I run up RT 15/22 once or twice a year to Buffalo from MD. I keep threatening to use the TD for this trip. Maybe we’ll do it next summer–and drop in.

Yes, I purchased a standard VW tow bar and it did not fit my London Roadster custom square axle front end. The shocks were not the issue, the size and shape of the receiving parts. It took me two trips to the hitch/weld shop to get it right, but now I have a custom tow bar for my London Roadster. Pulling it behind my Honda Odyssey, it is har…[Read more]

John, The tow bar is a good idea BUT and it’s a big one,,Your pictures look to me like you have one of the London Roadsters that is built on a custom chassis. If it is the custom chassis model, the regular VW tow bar will not hook up without modifications. MGLondonRoadster ran into this problem with his custom chassis LR. If your car has coi…[Read more]

I kinda like those wheels but can’t get the link to work. I’m probably just dreaming since I doubt I could afford them anyway.

Thanks, Paul. I’m on the Moss Motors mailing list, and believe me I’ve pored over their catalogs. Can’t determine if the Lafer’s windshield dimensions are the same as the TD’s though. Ricardo (Calafer) came through with confirmation that the source I have in Brazil is the go-to guy down there, so maybe help is on the way from the Southern Hemisphere.
