Hi and welcome to the forum.
It’s basicly taking a good look to determine what will come off with the body and what will stay on the pan and then disconnecting the wires and cables and anything else that runs from the body to the pan, along with a large number of bolts. The assembly manuals [in the aqua section ],may help, just reverse the…[Read more] -

Alright…I have the correct grille shell. Just wondered if I had a correct one or not. That was my main concern. I figured the grille shell for my VW based TD was going to stay intact.
As for carpeting the trunk area, I haven’t decided yet. Still a long way before I get to that.
Thanks guys. -

The Fiberfab assembly manual for Ford based kits and the CMC (Fiberfab) assembly manuals say to “Cut the fiberglass liner on the scribed lines, including hole for radiator cap.” (See page 45)So Larry’s explanation is right on target.Leave the fiberglass grill shell insert whole for VW kits and cut it on the scribed lines for front engine kits

Allen , This is what you could call general information and is not specific to any particular kit. Some kits use an actual MGTD grille shell which in some cases must be cut [trimed] to fit and some use a grille made by the kit manufacturer. That being said, I can see no reason to trim out the fiberglass panel behind the grille on a VW based car.…[Read more]

Thanks for the quick reply,. Mark [Pink MG] redid the seats and door panels in real leather befor I got the car.The rest of the interior is still in the BCW original carpet material, both the floor and side panels as well as the area bebind the seat. I would like to do it all to match but I’m thinking the leather may be hard to match since it’s…[Read more]

It is a BCW. The reason I didn’t use the other pieces is because they didn’t
fit. The door panel were close, but no banana.I posted some new photos to the Photo Galley, but really screwed up the one
with the question mark. Now I can’t delete the extra ones! -

Hi, From the picture of the guages in your photo gallery, I think you have a BCW. Did you not use all of the kit because it would not fit or did you not need to replace all the pieces? I have a BCW and am interested in what you have if it will work in my car but if it will not fit, I would rather someone have it who could use it.

Well, actually…http://www.lowescruise.com/True story: Emerging from the local Home Despot last year (carrying some little stainless bit I thought might work to fix something on Bridget) I come across a bloke peering into her cockpit. “I have one like this at home,” he tells me. “VW?”

Ed, I like that. Our cars do draw attention wherever we go. Not sure it would hold up when your coming out of Lowes or Walmart.. Do we have a attorney in the group.

Ohio is the same, 25 years. 1 time fee of $70, I still have to wait couple years to qualify. They are a little tougher on rules, limited use, to and from shows, parades and repair shops. (in theory anyway)
