I have a PDF of the plex pattern of the Moss set, a dimensioned full size pattern on letter sized paper. I can email it to anyone that wants it.

With 2 people my chevette rear bottoms out on occasion. Sometimes on bumps that I think are not that bad. I had wondered about a fix myself. Shocks seem to work OK, but maybe the springs are worn or wrong cut?
Hopefully maybe someone will enlighten us on a fix (or a diet that works)

The one I saw (yellow with brown fenders, the classic “Cream Cracker”) was
VW powered. It might have been a BCW but I suspect it was a Fiberfab. Good
price though. -

I took my wing to a local plastic company in Philly. Typically they do acrylic awards & such. They drilled the holes, & beveled the sides. I had them do four for a total cost of seventy-five dollars. I keep a spare set in case I need to replace any of the two new ones.

Thanks all for replying. Did talk to Mike at the Street Beasts. He is still there from Classic Carriages. Said the same about too many color manfgrs & colors. Did say that mine should be a cream white since it was built around 1985. Going to boat repairs shops as well as paint shops.

Hawk:
FYI
Moss sells a stick which you put down into the tank and it approximates the amount of fuel in there

Dan,
Unfortunately for me, a prior builder of this car sealed up the spare tire cover with fiberglass. It makes it tight – but certainly inhibits access to the things under that cover.
I’ll sort it out sooner or later. And meanwhile I’ll use the trip odometer to handle fuel needs.
Thanks to all who’ve contributed.

I have the pattern for the Moss Motors wing wings plexiglass, full size with dimensions in PDF format. If anyone wants me to email you a copy, let me know and I will be glad to send it. Rich made a beautiful set. You can send me a message thru the site private messager, and I’ll email it. If you look in the photo gallery thru the forum, you can…[Read more]

Wind avoidance solution….spend about half an hour or so attaching the top to the windshield…position top bows…try stretching the the rear to the snaps without tearing the material (since it hasn’t been up in years)…zip and snap all of the side curtain pieces into place…unzip and unsnap the area around the drivers door since you’re still…[Read more]

I made my wind wing large, really large. It helps up to 55 or so, quite a bit. But it doesn’t look right. So I am still looking for a pattern.

At full, my gas gauge reads full.
With half a tank, it’s basically on empty. My more reliable gas gauge is the odometer. I follow three simple rules:Always fill the tankAlways reset the trip meterAlways start looking for a station at about 200 miles. -

Hawk ; You do not have to drop the tank, remove the spair and the cover it will be on the top with 6 screws about 8 min . to get at it GOOD LUCK Dan R

Measured my tank today and it is the same size as Rich’s tank. 12 gallons.
My gauge was not initially wired and the gauge read below empty. When I hooked up the gauge it read about 1/4 tank. But after a fillup it still reads 1/4 tank.
This car sat for many years in a semi-finished condition. The seller I dealt with said the tank had neve…[Read more] -

It dawned on me last night, lately I have been slower on some simple
and obviuos things, and being blonde helps according to most, but I
remembered that just because the copyright states 1975, doesn’t mean it was built in 75. I can’t read
the Fla reg tag, so who knows when this was actually molded and built. Like a copywrited
book, it may be…[Read more] -

Yeah, I guess we were a bit late, but better late than never…what a pair! Nice to know these cars weren’t originally created in some board room meeting, but by real people. So what do we investigate next…..

I’m surprised that I didn’t find this obit. Sorry we were a little too late, but the detective work was fun anyway. Check out this link to Laverne’s husband, “Tinker” Joe Martincic. This was a very interesting family!

Hi fareoh…here’s a pic of a similar solution to “my grill shell’s not chrome” problem…mine is a very early Daytona MIGI…couple other pics in forum photo gallery under mindseyeblind. We’ve been discussing history, etc of these cars in general discussion forum, Daytona MIGI, of course! Feel free to give us some other owner input…

If anyone tries that site I don’t think there is a space between 29 & 66. Think it should be 2966

A sad note to pass on…Rich got me curious again to the origins of my car, since even on the TD replica history page the Daytona MIGI is listed as the original MGTD replica…if it truly was the first, then in a sense the “mother” of all of our cars has gone….LaVerne J. Martincic passed away on Dec.7, 2008. I don’t know how to make a link,…[Read more]
