This is a topic that worked its way into my e-mail. Soon you will be able to order an electric motor/transmission package complete with assorted mounting points for your special interest car. The package is not much bigger than a present day transmission, which allows you plenty of room to place batteries of your choice. Batteries would add w…[Read more]

Hey Dale, do you think Ed might have some pictures from the Air and Auto Classic 9. Maybe he could show on the web site?

I’d love one but I haven’t as yet run my machine up to the required speed to activate it!

Bill, I think it would be a really cool addition, but I feel you’d have a tough time sourcing brakes that would be adequate.

Although my TD is built on VW chassis the wiring for a horn should be similar to what you are dealing with. The horn button will close a circuit to the silver box aka horn relay and will be connected to either pin 85 or 86. When the horn button powers the relay a normally open contact will close in the relay routing power to the horn. Pins 87 or…[Read more]

Started a new Horn post and then found this one.
I mounted a Lucas Horn button to my dash a few years back and it worked great (I also recessed the radio behind a glovebox door and it eventually fell into the under-dash area and presumably pulled the ground wire from what I think is a relay). When I discovered this I couldn’t find the original…[Read more]

I have a FF TD with a newly assembled VW duel port that runs too hot.
I have provided an air gap around the fake tire cover, changed the main jets to a much richer setting and added the rear apron tin. The last two were the most help. Has anybody installed “cool tins” under the cylinders to divert more air around the heads instead of the cyl…[Read more]

I’ll add that not only are there differences between original TD and replica grill shells, but not all replica shells are the same and they are not interchangeable between replica manufacturers without modifications.

I’m 78 this week and have decided to sell my MGTDr. I almost sold it a few months ago to a fellow on this site, but the deal fell apart at the end. If you are interested, please give me a call. It still has not been advertised. I will be out of town until 9/26 but would be willing to talk about my TDr experiences and compare them to my rea…[Read more]

Sorry to have to see that. Hope everyone is ok.
There are distinct differences between the original TD grille and the ones provided by Fiberfab. The original units are actually easier to find, but then you have to modify the fenders and that front apron so it looks like it belongs.
I did find a place in VietNam that manufactures bumper kits…[Read more]

I recently post about an accident I had. End result is I need a new radiator grill shell. Does anyone have a source for one? Are they the same as the original TD grill shells? Can they be repaired and re-chromed?
Also need the fiberglass assembly that sits below the grill shell and between the fenders.
TIA
