Are the VDO sender units different from the VW ones? I have a new VW sender unit that I put in with the new tank but the gauge is not working. So I guess the real questions is, if I replace the VW sender with a 10-180 ohm unit, might that solve my gauge problem?

I’m on the Happy Jack bandwagon.  After that drive out to Pittsburgh a couple of years ago I’ve decided I’m towing anything over an hour.

I made the mistake of using a 61-67 float with the kit gauge, it doesn’t work.  Someday I might replace it with a universal float but, for now, I’m using the trip odometer as a gas gauge.
