The bolt pattern on the Alpha is 4X108 and Chevette is 4X100 but no matter as the Goose is getting spoke knockoffs. Puttered a little this afternoon…
I think I’m back to page 8 in the assembly book.

About looking authentic…I took my TDr to Moss Motors to try and find some wheel adapters that would fit. And as I was getting out a real MG TD pulled in. The driver said to me, “Looks good, your restoration is coming along nice. Any problems with rust?”I said “no”….

Okay started the next iteration of the Green Goose…The “stock” Chevette rear end cannot handle the new HP available. So I did a little research and found a unit that should fit.A Alpha Romero Spider rear end. Good for 300HP
I picked it up with all hardware for $450.Working from measurements of the duchess (With the body on) it looks like it will…[Read more]

Till the bank wouldn’t touch the check he was sent. Pissed not taking it well. But he wont let me file with the FBI.The FBI has an online page to report…[Read more]

Ed, Here’s a pix of the speedo/dash. To be clear I’m not running the GPS speedo. The Trans has a pulse out put for a digital gauge.
I like the ‘old tyme’ look of the quad gauge.

AutoMeter.com has a speedo that works on GPS…no cables or a chassis with no speed sensor.I’ve used it on a couple of custom movie cars that I didn’t want to bother hooking up or creating a speedo system.http://www.autometer.com/universal-gps-speedometer-interface-module.htmlWill work with most all their speedos. even the antique looking…[Read more]

I was not happy with fat, modern-looking Chevette steering column. So I built a upper carrier and took the splined hub from the Chevette and built an adapter. Basically I cut a circle out of steel and bolted to the hub on one side and to the steering wheel on the other.
So now I’m looking for an brass acorn nut for the shaft.

Ed the top project has been on hold for time and money. Besides it never rains in sunny California.
Please explain again about…”drive fast and stay low…”Anyway…pulled the front suspension this morning.
It came apart fairly easily. First the front clip comes off:
Then jack her up and pull the wheels. Looks okay…
Yuckkk that bushing is shot (and…[Read more]

That road looks just about the same today. I’ve been over it in my TDr not long ago. Speed limit 45 most curves marked 10-15. If you want to push it…great fun. and you can stay under the speed limit.

No, My steering column is rigid. It was originally the Chevy Chevette column with the switches and all hanging on it. I didn’t think the look matched with the rest so I removed the Chevette parts and constructed a setup more like the original.
I moved the ignition switch and turn signal to the panel in keeping with the ‘look’.
when I installed the…[Read more]
