So I moved the fuel filter from the engine compartment to the area behind the big shroud looking thing behind the engine. The car starts and runs but it dies on idle. I have no idea what to do now. I’ve thought about adjusting the idle but not sure if that’s the right thing to do. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Beautiful, Rick. Peace and spit-fire to you and your family. Your mom did right by you and you by her, and that’s the world right there.

When I put the Soob in Bridget the same thing happened. I’d wired in all the rigourmorole. All the engine wiring and the ECU and the extra stuff like the igniter and the various important looking electronic block thingies. And the tach. And the fans. All that. The engine ran.
The alt light was on.
It was a brandy-new alternator. I checked all…[Read more]

12 volts to it–there’s a terminal you have to hit while it’s running. Excite the alt.

I’m glad that there are other cars out there that fight and squirm and make repairs difficult. I thought it was just me.
Good job, Ed. See you in a few weeks.

Shift bushing update:
SUCCESS!
Finally got round to adjusting the shift plate and test driving this afternoon. But not before I took a wild swing at fixing the leak from my oil pressure gauge exclusively onto the right leg on only work or dress pants (and never garage or shop pants). Crawled under the dash and loosened the nuts on the gauge…[Read more]

Thanks, Ed! But I can’t take credit, Charlene took that. Knew you and Karen would enjoy it. 😀

This is just a test using Ed’s instructions. Try as I might I can not copy that text to this post. I wanted to just for reference. They’re under “Shift rod bushing, again”

It’s a rather convoluted process, but made simple enough by the “Photos for Dummies” instructions.
THANKS, ED !!

The Bugatti looks really great too! I like the numbers. Do people ask you if that’s the year of manufacture?

Jack, it’s more convoluted than even the old site. First you go to your own thing. Upper right corner it should say something like “Howdy, Happy Jack.” Click on that and you get a drop-down menu. At the bottom it says “media.” Hover over that with your curser and you should see another drop-down menu with “albums,” “photos” “videos.” Click on “ph…[Read more]
