I, for one, think the extra cubes and the 30 extra ponies would be a very desirable upgrade. Good research, greg.

Bass boats! yeah! Sometimes $70,000 and the style:1974 Dune Buggy, all the way!WHY are all serious bass boats affixed with the most garish metal flake gel coats ever seen on planet Earth? Not that it’s not cool, but, just, WHY?

Those adaptors look very good. Make sure to check the splines on them and in the wheels though. Then have them checked for “true.” Good luck.–oh, and for the love of all that’s holy, don’t leave ’em out in the rain. The splines reportedly will rust and then they’re just interesting conversation pieces–maybe good for making a coffee table…[Read more]

Final bump for this, fellas. Got the results today and, turns out, we finished 22 out of 36 contenstants–though 11th of the 12 “Novice” runners. I posted the grid on the bottom of my blog post on the subject, as an update.http://bridgetmgtd.wordpress.com/2012/05/06/mgs-of-baltimore-get-the-dust-off-rallye/

Pretty good sized VW vender pile. Also some fleamarket -type tables with Brit parts. Never a bad idea to bring a few $s and browse.I plan to at least get an oil change kit while there.

When I pulled out Bridget’s interior & had a look at the
loom/harness I did most of what you’re doing. Ended up replacing one big
wire with a melted insulator, most of the wire ends, added a couple
line fuses and called it good.In my case it isn’t, really, because I left the old fusebox in place. So
now at regular intervals I’ll see things like…[Read more] -

That’s about the nicest TD replica I’ve ever seen. Very authentic looking and really, really clean. If it runs near as good as it looks it should be worth quite a bit more than your average one. Here’s the thing with values. When everyday people see these cars on the street they think they’re $100,000 items. But car guys (our target market), shaped…[Read more]

OK, we’re back.We totally could have used a stop watch (or any watch) but for newbies I think we did OK.No rain, no crashes. And we raced this Viper for a bit. (You should’ve seen the time he had staying under 20 mph in some of the tight twisties!)
Took a bit longer than we expected. Nice picnic at Dejon Vineyard starting around 3 or so.
We ran…[Read more]

If I were going to sell one I’d probably do 1. Craigslist (’cause it’s free and local–you might get lucky)2. ebay (’cause it’s a commission. reasonable reserve will probably get you a sale, but don’t lowball yourself)3. Hemmings. Cause old guys read it and they remember these cars & have money.I’d go Hemmings first for a few weeks, then Craig’s…[Read more]
