You get to come because you have a British accent.Follow Schu & Greg up if you can.

Ed,
Right now I am thinking of flat towing to your house and then driving around
from there w/ the TD. Since I would be flat towing the early dinner time is
not that big a deal. The MG show sounds like like fun as well – just email me
w/ your address and time I need to be at your house. I think Greg will be
coming as well the last time I spoke to…[Read more] -

I think spectating. I believe spectators get in free, or maybe it’s $3 to park. We put our cars in with the Toyotas and Durrangos and freak everyone out. Entering the MG competition is like $20 and I don’t think we stand a chance anyway.

OK, back on topic:I have buy-in from Greg, Wobby the Magnificent and, possibly, Schu, who has asked for an early dinner since he has some major driving to get there & back. I think we should meet at Winterthur at about 3:30 for a drive about the valley and get to the restaurant by about 4:15. I’ve got what I think is nice route mapped out–Greg,…[Read more]

I had a couple GM HEI units fail me way back in the ’80s. Never figured it; I was also broke then so I went back to a points system for about 15 years and ended up finally getting one of those aftermarket Crane modules, which worked well.Looking back I wonder if maybe my regulator was hinky, or maybe the coil? Something is zapping it, probably.…[Read more]

I’d be very into that. Been thinking about an epic Bridget road trip for a while. But not sure how to convince Karen of its utility and enjoyability. Will work on her.

edward ericson replied to the topic question about fuel filters in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 7 months ago
I had my plastic one between the fuel pump and the carb and it was no trouble, but after reading a lot of scare stories I replaced the rubber lines and moved the filter to the front of the engine (“back” of the fan shroud when you’re looking at it from the back of the car) to get it away from sparks and stuff. Seems to work fine either way. Also,…[Read more]

Rob,
I have a fix that I did on my car seats w/ pictures somewhere on the site – In
my opinion it is way better then just changing out the foam – take a look and
let me know if you have any questions. No more DBS ( Dead Butt Syndrome ) -

Somehow the pictures I get with my Nikon camera scan big. There was a time when re-sizing them with the jpeg slider made them smaller. Now they just lose resolution.Sorry about that. I know there is a way to re-size them for real with software, but I didn’t bother. If it’s any consolation, everyone has to scroll with this post. My apologies.

Rock,
Thanks for sharing as well. Sorry if it felt like we were dumping on your
parade.
I know well the feeling you had w/ your project – my oldest son and I rebuilt
my TD from about the same shape as the one you have and it will be his
when I move on or leave this life. We worked on and off for 5 years till one
day Josh said – Dad let’s just…[Read more] -
edward ericson replied to the topic Title Question in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 7 months ago
My recollection of FL DMV is that they care what the car weighs (for tax purposes) and little else. Since your kit is lighter than an ’81 MGB (let alone a TD), they might fight you over the $5 or $10 less a year you might be paying with a correct title. But probably not.I had a mis-titled boat trailer & let the registration lapse this year. When I…[Read more]
