Dan Rosa replied to the topic Mixed Bag, Want Better Brakes in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 10 months ago
Wow that seems like a lot of work , time ‘n’ cash and I don’t know if is that much better than a stock power system? I have the old service brake system and have no stopping problems, you may want to check the system for a failure somewhere
I replaced the master last year simple quick,, can it be glazed drums or roters ?good luck Dan -

There many great products out there in a can but i still had my best result by wet sanding first by hand using 2000 grit to start than a buffing wheel.

Dan Rosa replied to the topic some mods. that work for me in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 13 years, 11 months ago
Ray,, the manifold and carb. came from Quebec the claim is that they are more open with longer runners for better torque. the carb. is a n.o.s. 1972 before GM had to lean them out to meet US emissions,,they are still available on line, as off road . the later carbs. had vacuum secondary throttle plates. I also changed over to hand choke .

Roy all i can say is get some emery cloth sanding each spoke one at a time a long WINTER job but that is the only way .or if you know and can get time on a sand blaster. that would faster .. I did it one spoke at a time on those cold Tennessee winter evenings. Dan

my first 3 cars were British 59 Metropolitan 56 Hillman minx California convertible ,and a Triumph Herold convertible ,and a few MGs over the years, even a fake British maker as MG in China will bring a smile
to many I have always thought mazda / ford should have bought the MG name and put it on the Mx5

Dan Rosa replied to the topic No power in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 11 months ago
If there no fusible links in the wire , if you hot wire the starter will she turn over ? if it will turn over than i would look at the solenoid wire back to the fuse box and ignition switch . check the ground at the frame , make sure all are tight . I know it will be something simple
