That’d be the aluminum thermos we transferred the Pimm’s to when I heard that glass bottles weren’t allowed on the field. But I am also glad to see you.

Rich, I thought you’d spot that one! Looks like a lot of work, and I’m not completely sure about that pan he’s including. But you’re right, they’re out there.Paul: wish I was retired; I’d drive up there and help/watch you do that motor. Even if it’s just new heads, it’d be a valuable lesson for me.

Dude! Get to work on your car!
Or, if you must play with photoshop, use the lasso tool to get just your car and drop it into the existing background. Should put yourself in there too. And maybe Paul Newman or Lady Gaga while you’re at it. -

Wobby thinks he’s gonna buy a Speedster for like $2500. The hell of it is, he probably is!

Thanks for the pic, Paul. I’m gonna refrain from chiming in on your engine breakdown post, since I’ve not even adjusted the valves yet on mine. Hope to learn something useful from your trial though, and hope the trouble isn’t a high-dollar type.

Will, you are a giant. A craftsman. Can hardly wait to see what you turn out. It’d be awesome to see you caravan out with both yours next year & maybe pickup some of the others on the way. The longest distance driven award for the speedster club went to a guy who came 700 miles. But there were quite a few still standing after the 500 mile call. A…[Read more]

Cell phones: 2 present & accounted for.AAA membership: check.I think my insurance company offers towing too, but shouldn’t need two tow trucks. . . .The plan, if we break down, is to have AAA tow her to Carlisle. Even if we’re 100 feet from our driveway
Took her to work & back today. All systems go.

I’ll probably pack the e-brake cables too, since I got them, and a spare tach (anyone want a brand new white Classic Instruments tach? I bought the wrong one). Maybe I should bring an extra cylinder and piston assembly too, in case one goes. And a rebuilt transaxle.

I might go on the Bay & see if I could grab a TD spare tire mount assembly & adapt it to my kit. But I don’t know if it would fit, and I don’t know how much this puppy will end up going for.
The other alternative is to get one fabbed out of mild tube steel. Might not be that much $ (maybe a friendly muffler shop guy might try it?), and IMHO it…[Read more] -

The Pimm’s Cup is less like a Long Island Iced Tea and more like a wine cooler, kick-wise. Think Al Stewart instead of Hank, Jr.; Wimbledon instead of the Daytona 500 infield. Not likely to cause anyone to become disorderly or intoxicated. Roger that “no glass” rule, shouldn’t be a problem.
