Being the youngest member I can verify that no matter which generation you are a member of MG TD replicas as awesome, cool, fun, and respected.
I love having a car that most everyone my own age has never heard of, but they all envy and drool over. I do get sick of people asking if it’s a kit, but then again it does give me the opportunity to ex…[Read more] -

Becky,
That is too funny! I also got my car on mother’s day and I had my mother over, but found it really difficult to spend any time away from my car (sorry mom).
Sounds like your husband definitely loves you dearly, after all he got you an MG, maybe you could forgive the housework for a while?!
You guys definitely have the best st…[Read more] -

Larry,
What great pictures! That car is B-E-A-UTIFUL! I can’t wait to see her finished. I don’t know what you paid for her, but the smile on your face after your first cruise is going to be priceless! Try to get some sleep once in a while, and don’t forget to pay attention to your real wife once in a while too!! hahaha
It really looks gre…[Read more]

Hi Dave,
I still have all the manuals from my car. I’m not sure of any diagrams of the pinto rear in them, but I’ll check tonight.
Good Luck,

Thanks Ringo!
You are a wealth of information as always. I will start at the tank and check the float.
Have you been out cruising? How’s she running?I’m planning on going to some smaller jets in my carb, replacing the muffler, and then I’m going to start looking into intake manifolds!!!
Thanks again for lending your expertise…[Read more]

Larry,
First Congratulations!
I know that blessed feeling you are talking about.
Second, try to get a mini fridge and a cot for your garage. I don’t think you will be anywhere else for the next couple of months!I know my wife just assumes that if she opens the door to the garage that I will definitely be there either working on the car or…[Read more]

Rich,
One thing I have noticed is that these cars do not like the cold. When I had the car in Buffalo it was only driveable 3 months out of the year. Mainly because it hates to run in the cold weather. On a side note I just recently had to replace the solenoid on my starter too. I racked up about 300 miles on my “Stella” in the past 2 weeks,…[Read more]

Geoffrey replied to the topic Wont go into Reverse in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 15 years, 11 months ago
Update:
The “reverse lock-out ” works fine, but I still couldn’t get the car in reverse. I took the whole gear shifter apart, felt around in the gear oil as Rich suggested. Apart from some “gack” I found no irregularities. I even widened the hole in the fiberglass under the shift boot just in case it wasn’t allowing enough clearance. I to…[Read more]

Geoffrey replied to the topic First Drives in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 11 months ago
Yeah Rich,
The reflections in the chrome, and gelcoat as you pass by the scenery definitely add to the experience. I noticed that on the highway the lack of aerodynamics (perticularly in the front fenders) makes for a shakey ride. Other than that, for an 1800# car it drives like a dream.
My Crane cam definitey makes the Idle a little rough…[Read more] -

Well it wasn’t my true first drive, but since I am the proud titled owner(thanks to my dad, and seriously thank you dad!) I was able to take my MG out for the first time yesterday.
Wow!! What a rush. I spent the past week going over her. I changed the oil, ran gas treatments, replaced filters, polished, primped, adjusted the carb mixtures, et…[Read more] -

Geoffrey replied to the topic wind wings in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 11 months ago
My Dad mentioned some sportscars have a “visor” behind the drivers bench seat maybe 6″ above the seat all the way across. I still haven’t seen any examples, but he said that this “visor” really cuts down the wind. I don’t know why, but it has something to do with a change in the aerodynamics. He always wanted to test it with plywood first cut at…[Read more]
