Welcome to the club, Bryce. Your true story is pretty close to the bogus one I made up for my own BCW, purchased 7 years ago.
We’ll help you any way we can.Start by pulling the gas tank and emptying it, cleaning it out, putting new fuel lines and filters.Drain and change the oil.Drain the brake fluid. Inspect the hard brake lines and replace the… -

10 lbs per 1000 rpm is the going standard. But don’t assume what you see on the gauge is accurate.

A few shots from the weekend:
Alan Merklin explaining to Kelly Frazier about his broken rocker arm adjusters.
Red line.
I always get a kick out of seeing one of these on the road…
Car guys are everywhere: even in the Army museum.
Schu would’ve totally bought this car if the seat had been right for him???and if it was $2,800 instead of $28,000.

A note on fender mirrors.
I bought the convex mirrors from Moss about a month after I got my car, 2009. They were something like $38 for both, shipped. Looks like they’re still about the same.I later got a set of long stem motorcycle mirrors and bolted them to the windshield mounts. They work too.But I haven’t had them on the car for quite some… -

Back home safe. Got in about an hour ago. Stopped once on the highway to help someone else who was pulled over in a BMW, but they left as I was getting out of the car.
Not much rain or leakage. I’d never driven on the highway before with the side curtains; wasn’t bad at all.Great seeing you all. Rain ain’t bother us! -

Roy…you’re coming after all?
Pets are “strongly discouraged” on the Carlisle fair grounds. (But not prohibited) The usual caveats apply. -

edward ericson replied to the topic Parts – Trunk Tire in the forum VW Based Kits 9 years, 11 months ago
Now that is an interesting question!
OK: so the tire is supposed to be a spare tire, and is on many (not all) TDRs. There are different mounting mechanisms for each TDr brand. But the basic idea is pretty simple and can be accomplished with a couple of steel plates and/or straps. Can you post a picture of what you have (and don’t have?)e -

Reminder, gentlemen:
So far, only Vicenc has expressed interest.I’m going to open it up to my drag-racing neighbors as well.Weather permitting, we’ll probably roll the lift out onto the driveway and re-level it there, so as to have max headroom. -

I cruised over to the usual Saturday cars & coffee at the Hunt Valley mall. Rolled in behind a stunning cream colored Speedster replica and I swear Bridget got more attention than that car.
Soon as I parked (between an MGB and a 911 turbo), the 911 turbo guy struck up a conversation, wanting to know all about Bridget. “Does it have a race… - Load More
