mrhydrant:
I got the header and aluminum valve cover off ebay. It took about 4 months of watching for and finally winning one at a price I was willing to pay, under $100. I’m cheap I guess. The air cleaner just happend to be with some other stuff I picked up at a local car show, lucked into it.
They make an adapter for these Weber style ca…[Read more] -

Thanks for the
words.. No cigars, quit those about 35 years ago. Do have some Off repellant, and sun screen in there. Not too many sharks here in Ohio, but if I head to the coast guess I can add it, you never know.
Oh, I also carry that red and white bow string in there thats holding the hood back. The metal rod hood prop only gives limit…[Read more]

The wooden box under the hood was just something I had laying around. Kinda of a emergency kit. I put in a small first aid kit, flashlight, extra fuses, fuel filter & clamps, pen and note pad,
just to name a few things in there. Never know what you might need, the band aids have already been usefull. Guess it’s the old boy scout in me. Montie

I have that type hat too, same color from Walmart, think it was 4.99. Since I lowered the seat it stays on without a chin strap, but cool idea with the sideburns or beard. Someone’s goning to run with that idea, and make $$$.

Audrey is a Ford kit too from CMC.. At 6’1″ 200# I had problems with the leg room too. I built new seat boxes lowering them in the back to about 3″ and the front about 5″.. making them angle back gave me about another 2 inches. This put my sight in the center of the windshield too, with the stock seat boxes I was looking over the top most of the…[Read more]

I guess mine is more authentic, gauge hasn’t worked since I bought it. Tried to get to it to check it out, it didn’t look possiable without removing the whole back of the car. Was on the list last winter but did the engine dress up instead. Maybe next winters project. For now, go about 100 miles and fill her up.

Dan, no torque wrench used. I just took it down snug then 1/4 to 1/2 turn more. Never had to worry about torque on a valve cover gasket before. Any idea what the torque should be? Montie

Good luck on the ride. Nice trailer, too hope you don’t need it. We are having custom cushions made for “Audrey” for those longer rides. About 2 hrs max is all we can take without a extra pillow.

I really never thought about a roll bar either. Only problem I’ve had was when a Buick Elec 225 tried to get in a Spitfire my brother and I were in. Thats sorta like a hummer vs a TD.. We survived but the Spitfire was history. Roll bar wouldn’t have helped, hit it in the side and almost tore it in half. WE were very lucky!!!

I’m not surprised he didn’t get to his reserve. I think 12 to 15 would be max for me if I didn’t already have mine. It’s a really nice replica, but you can get a nice real TD for the same money. Maybe I have that lottery ticket for tonight..

Found the wiring problem, it was a copper wire soddered under the fuse block tying several fuses together. One connection, one sodder joint, stopped it all. Easy fix, but a well hidden problem.
On Vacation this week, hope to get a few more details worked out on her and of course some drive time in if the weather permits..

I had a new set made for mine last July, after trying several different sizes and shapes. I ended up with the design in this picture attached
Also shown is the orginal shape that was on the car.
Cost at a local plexiglass shop was only about $25.00, edges polished and ready to mount. All I had to do was drill the holes for the screws.

Thanks Paul,
Is it the same one thats on the “Download Manuels” section, this one is labeled REV E for the MIGI II. I already ran a copy of it in case I need it tomorrow. I looked at the other one thats for the Chevette too. I hope they are all wired about the same.

Thanks for the compliments, and advice..A work in progress, still a few things I want to do to her, as money allows.
Paul, yes she has air too, not sure why. I guess if I get caught in the rain and had to put the top up it might come in handy. So far I’ve avoided the rain.
Back to the wiring. I’ll start by checking the grounds Saturda…[Read more] -

Test drive was great!!!! She ran soooo much smoother the new shocks and springs really made a difference in the ride.
Had one problem, for some reason the turn signals, radio and most of the gauges dont work now. Fuses were ok.. Anyone got any ideas??? As far I know nothing was touched fuse wise or in the wiring harness.. - Load More
