Hey Mark,
   I had the same issue here in North Ga. with the air thing and all and I just took the vin off the frame and had it re-registered with Haggerty to show it as so, mine shows as a modified VW 1974 for taging and insureance purpose.
Try it !!
 

Have you tried a boat shop place eyt. Not sure where you live but they be able to make you a new one.

not dead just slow    What does it look like, we have one available on this site but not a lot of takers..post a photo  and you may get more out of it…

Hey Paul  I noticed the “05” number and some stickers on the side of the car are they “stickers” or “magnets” and if magnets maybe it is a real TD ???  But great questions Mike has for you, I was wondering the same…I keep going around with what to do with the wheels and tires thing as well…

Welcome aboard the club, if you notice there is a slot on the top of the windshield, that the end of the canvis should slide right into. If you do not have this, attach a photo here and I am sure we can talk you thru it.

   I just took a closer look at my tires and found them to be 195 R15 and they seem to be working with no rubbing… just FYI…so maybe I will stay with them since they are easier to find   

By the way the other Paul is right I just got the rear view mirror form Moss it has a single mounting stem and I do not want to drill another hole and the Mirror I got is a little small for Moss.
But if anyone needs one I have one for sale

That is great, I went by a hot rod show last week and they liked mine as well and it still needs a lot of work I think so they are lots of fun to drive around.
