May 26, 2013 at 10:07 am #256055HappyJack,
Just sent you a PM with an email address, and a craigslist listing for a London Roadster.
May 24, 2013 at 12:58 pm #256052The owner is Arthur R Provenz He used to be a member. He contacted me a couple of years ago. I do have his email address. I also live in MA.
April 11, 2013 at 3:15 pm #255400That’s correct Ed. They make a kit to repair that if that is where it is leaking.
April 10, 2013 at 7:24 pm #255398Ed. I had the same problem with a backfire when down shifting or going down hill in 3rd. She would backfire after building up some compression. If I accelerated in 2nd gear hard and then let up on the accelerator it backfired real loud like a gunshot. I was just at my mechanics place and asked what he did to get rid of that. He said i had an exhaust leak at the heater boxess. He put in a heater box repair kit on both sides and that took care of it. By the way I’m having major work done on the frame. Frame head, pans and numerous other items.
February 12, 2013 at 12:03 pm #254481The one fear I had at first was that it would be very easy to hot wire the car since the ignition switch is easily accessible. I bought an electronic kit that allows you to put a code into it and you have to know the code before you can start the car. All it actually does is put a relay in between the hot wire to the coil. The same thing can be done using a hidden switch. It does work and I do use it.

December 21, 2012 at 10:48 am #253472I kinda like the idea .
December 17, 2012 at 5:48 pm #251995As far as I know he hasn’t. I’ll definately forward this link to him. Thanks!
November 26, 2012 at 6:26 pm #252167Ordered mine. Thanks Ed.
November 25, 2012 at 12:57 pm #252157Couldn’t figure out how to get a reprint of that calendar. There’s nothing on their pages directing me to get a print of a calendar that was already created. I’ll keep checking.
November 8, 2012 at 7:04 pm #242319Back when schu fixed his seat with webbing, I did the same with my seats emulating what schu did. It worked great and I recommend to anyone.
October 19, 2012 at 6:09 pm #252227Pretty much the same as you, except for the dog. My wife usally sits as my passenger, and I’m the only one that says she cool.
October 16, 2012 at 9:01 am #252122I’m in also
October 15, 2012 at 1:44 pm #252117You’re right. All of the photo’s I deleted are still in the New Gallery. Thanks for showing me how to get to the New Gallery. I knew I had gotten in there before but forgot how.
October 15, 2012 at 8:54 am #252114I deleted several photo’s from my gallery last week. If you go to old “FORUMS” underlined in the text of the Home page you can go to the Photo Gallery as it was in the past. Once there, just above the photo’s on the right you can delete, view, upload photo’s. I’m assuming that this photo gallery is the same as the new, but not sure since I cannot find how to get into the new photo gallery with the new page setup.
September 14, 2012 at 7:20 pm #251820Just joined the Mid-State Antique Auto Club in Massachusetts. I’ve only been to 2 meetings. This club pretty much does similar things as Greg Press’ AACA club. I’ll gain more knowledge of this club as I attend more meetings.
September 6, 2012 at 1:09 pm #251763I had this problem with my engine. Met a VW mechanic at a local cruise-in a couple of months ago. He works only on Air cooled engines. He dropped the engine and replaced all of the seals. Oil was leaking mostly from the oil cooler, flywheel, and push rods. The engine is completely dry and no longer leaking oil.
Finding this mechanic was a Godsend. Not only is he thorough but very reasonable. as for type of oil, he uses Penzoil 20Ww50.August 26, 2012 at 10:56 am #251305This problem you’re having is kinda like a TV series with each episode leaving you hanging till the next episode. I anxiously await the next episode to see how it turns out. This has been a real mystery. I’m hoping the finale is soon for you. Summer is coming quickly to a close.
August 25, 2012 at 8:55 am #251495In two weeks I will have owned my TD 3yrs. I keep a diary of every ride I do, starting mileage, where I went on the ride, even if it’s just to the store and back, and then ending mileage. At this point I have put 18,400 miles on the TD, and loved every second of it.
August 21, 2012 at 5:33 pm #251389When I first bought my TD 3 years ago I was getting an average of 30-32 mpg. I had the valves adjusted 3 months later and then I was averaging 28 mpg. I just had major work done on my engine last month including a carb rebuild. Now I’m averaging 24 – 27 mpg. Go figger.
July 17, 2012 at 12:05 pm #249080Turned 67 May 4th.
May 19, 2012 at 4:06 pm #250518I had the same result. I spent a lot more money than you did, and found that the originals were brighter.
April 16, 2012 at 9:10 am #249970Funny you mentioned that Ed. I pulled up to stop light yesterday and a woman who was to the right of me and further up, actuall backed up and asked me what year the car was. I told her 1952. She then asked if it was a Rolls Royce. This is the 3rd time people have asked me that since I had it.
