Coffey, I have an 8″ Ford rear that came from Pinto wagon. All V6/V8 powered Mustang II’s, Pintos and Bobcats came with this rear.
This rear was designed in 1960 for use in Ford Fairlane and is sometimes referred to as the “Baby 9 inch”. It is a pumpkin style rear, the gear set comes out the front of the carrier.

Mark Hendrickson replied to the topic Seeking steel wheels vs. Wire wheel cover in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 15 years, 9 months ago
It was the BCW that now belongs to Larry Murphy. I bought those wheels from US Wheel. They are 14″ direct bolt to the Chevette. A Chevette, the first totally metric car produced in US factories, used a 13″ wheel. The bolt pattern was 4 x 100mm.
Not sure if US Wheel still makes a RWD application steel wheel for that bolt pattern. Many FWD drive…[Read more] -

Tom, he installed the #3487 (single outlet tip)
I installed the #3418 ceramic coated on my ’74 Beetle and lost the flexible heater tubes that go from the doghouse to the heater boxes. Looks like #3487, #3417 do not have this problem.Pink MG40114.5631481481 -

Most American car coil are several standard ID’s too.

John, did you already try Rick Drake?
If not, MOOG makes various sized isolators and Eaton-Detroit Spring may have them or know a source/part number. http://www.eatonsprings.com/
Sometimes a piece of heater hose slipped on to about 5 or 6 inches of the coil end will work too. Fox Body Mustangs have this set up in front.

That was really great Paul…now we’ll all need to purchase hand held orbital sanders or ask Santa to bring one!
Actually, if the rotors are not too thin or warped I never turn them…just install new pads. If they are warped or too thin, in most cases, it’s cheaper today to just buy new rotors anyway.
Now, to all with bad brakes…make sure yo…[Read more] -

Starting the car is a good idea. But if that can’t be done and you have to store it for a few months:
Run all the fuel out…until it’s dry. Sta-bil will also help in the short term and you can leave the fuel in it.The methanol in today’s fuel eats up the 1970’s era carb guts. It’s horrible what today’s pump gas is doing to the fuel systems.

Is it for the ignition key in the GM column or the dash? What’s the Painless part number? Hope it’s #10101.
I’ll be needing one of these for my 1940 Ford Streetrod.Pink MG40073.3684259259 -

You could also have a bad battery. Try what Larry did first…a good braided ground strap.
For great VW info: http://www.thesamba.com
On VW’s with external regulators, weren’t most of them mounted to under the back seat on the driver’s side? On some of the generator models, it was on the generator.

I for one prefer steel wheels. $2,000 is a lot of $$ to spend on wheels. I guess the market is just not there anymore…unless you’re a low-rider.

Welcome Groncher. I read the other posts before it was moved here. If you want to know ANYTHING about Bill Collins “Angelica” you can ask me…I built the car and sold it to Bill. He’s made a few mods to the car since he got it, but nothing that really changed any of the basic build I did.
The car was originally assembled for me, but not to my…[Read more] - Load More
