Ya know, I think our “slimy lawyer” friend may have it!I know nothing about air cooled vs’s except the T1. Looks like the T3 oil fill is where the “spare” filler is on this TDr.This may be a FrankenVW.Thanks Vicenc!

The quickest and easiest is to hook up a temporary jumper from the + terminal of the battery and connect the other end of the jumper to the hot lead at or near the lights. If they light, it is a hot wire problem, possibly the switch. If no light with the jumper, then the problem is a bad ground.

I’d try a test light on the wires. And, yeah: grounds. What are they bolted to?

BCW originally had no seat back adjustment–just an angle bracket with wood screws. I installed used original TD adjusters for the look, but the seat still sits all the way back all the time–unless I’m trying to make a little room to get into the transaxle.

My guess: bad (intermittent) ground.

Could match the “fake spare” wheel with a new set of 15s that look like ’em. These Gas Burner knock-offs are close enough that no one would point and laugh, imho. The Pedrini would be even closer to perfect (if you can find a set). Paint ’em gold–or powder-coat–and done.

GREAT LOOK! The wide whitewalls, the sunken, ribbed trim rings, the new dog dish hubcaps with the legit TD MG logo wheel emblems–that’s just right. Love the green too. A+ job on the wheel detailing!
