Here’s the progress: Oil Cooler passed the pressure test and it looks almost new. I re-installed it after cleaning, – got nothing out except nice clean fluid. If you’ll remember, I had low compression (79-75#) on #1 cyl. Decided to take a look. Pulled the heads off this morning and found out why. See Photo. The upper head bolts were torque…[Read more]

Paul, did you volunteer to tally this all up? Not sure if I should participate in this query, but I’m 70 1/2. Starting to realize why women are so secretive about their age. Who will I be able to talk to at Carlisle?? I’ll have to tell stories of the good old days.
I took my heads off today. Gonna be a 1600sp soon.
My first replica was a…[Read more] -

Yeah, I realized how dumb my comment was. The car was a ’76, but that doesn’t mean bought it new when you were 13. Major “duh” moment for me.
And…Damn! that also means I’m not five years away from “young buck” -

Geez….
If my math is right, a “young buck” here is defined as 48 years old!
I’m pleased to be only five years removed from “young buck” status.
But if we are typical, there will be no one to take over these cars when we’re done!
Stay tuned for another thread on this topic…. -

Ok well I guess I’m the young buck in this but thought I would share.
First car was a ’76 Ford Mustag II 4 cylinder (never got to drive it as I was only 13 at the time.) Dad bought it for us to tinker with but never got her road worthy before we had to move across Texas. Sold her but she was the best looking baby blue Mustang II (in my o…[Read more] -

Try this site. http://www.carshownews.com/
Then on the sidebar on the right choose your State. I’m sure it wont give all of the shows in your area. It doesn’t in my area. -

Got the cooler out. Those upside down nuts are tough (accessability) unless you have tiny fingers. The cooler looks good, no bulges, does not appear to leak. I’m gonna try to fabricate some sort of leak tester and clean it up real good before I reinstall with new seals. Actually the old seals also looked good and they still had elas…[Read more]
