Amen Larry, great feelings for Mike to share…captured my thoughts about these, and other “cruisers” to a tee.
Mike, did you post any pics of the cruise?
As far as staying out of the way…bigger rear view mirrors! -

Let us know what the diagnosis and fix was…hope it’s a simple fix, not at flat cam lobe or weak valve springs.

I found out that I might be exempt from emissions testing, given that she has collector car insurance and is not a daily driver.

Paul,
I think that I speak for the group, even though I’m new here, when I say that we appreciate the effort you put into moderating this forum. It’s a job like the proverbial duck on a pond. You appear cool and calm on the surface while your feet are moving like crazy under the water. We don’t know the half of what you do to keep TD.com a…[Read more] -

When I was president of the New Jersey Replicar Club, I always signed my column in our monthly newsletter with words that I think are appropriate here….”See you down the road Rich.”

I have the rebuild photos of my 74 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe in my on-line photo album. In there I should have some of the chassis build as I did a body-off rebuild. It can be seen at http://www.fotki.com/Allen1209 and look in the Ghia folder. You can peruse through the car shows as well.

Good to see you get started on your build Allen. I like many others will be anxious to see photos. I was looking at your doner car pics and see you will be doing a pan rebuild. I hope you document this part as this will be a great opportunity to share some great information. I myself have patched pans that need to be redone.
Good luck to you on the build. -

All,
Thanks for the feedback guys. This should give you an idea about the resale value of your vehicles, should you ever decide to part with them. Mine is a nice mid-class replica that went for over $6k. I know that it doesn’t hold a candle to many of the cars I have seen on this site. I think the V6 got a lot of attention, but I also think the…[Read more] -

Hi Mark,I’m in Bath PA (formerly living in New Providence NJ). Both towns are right off Interstate 78.There are marital complications that prevent me from having access to my TD at the moment. The car is still in New Providence. But stay in touch as hopefully those complications will be resolved.

Hi Will,Do you have to change your nickname now?I am VERY envious.Your Marlene is beautiful.Allen – No. The Marlene was produced by Classic Roadsters Ltd. Mike, I could not have expressed MY THOUGHTS as well as you. I to find myself looking for scenic roads where I can go slow enough to see and smell what’s out there.
Dan R has it right when he says ”I’m not in a hurry , I’m where I want to be.”
We just have to be careful not to get in someone’s way. -

The Lee Valley URL will take you to a page that lists Brass, Veritas Cabinetmaker’s, Carpenter’s Beech and Carver’s mallets. I have a carver’s mallet. It will hurt whatever you point it at and not leave a mark. It’s the ultimate dead blow mallet. It would make a classy knockoff hammer. Useful too if you had to defend yourself against car th…[Read more] -

That sounds good to me. I sit taller in my London Roadster than I do in my Honda S2000, or the LR’s windscreen is shorter. I get buffeted and wind whipped too much at anything above 45 to really enjoy the scenery. On the city freeway, she’ll do 55-65 easily, but then it’s not a scenic drive I’m on.Stop and smell the roses, or at least slow dow…[Read more]

In Reedsport oregon. I was recently transferred there by my company. I have often joked with the wife about now that all but one of the kids are gone and he is off to college we can downsize to a two bedroom house with a 4 car garage. Where did you find the Carver’s mallet with the lead insert and rubber face? My search only found wooden ones.
