Remember – It’s Oregun, not Oregon.I was in Washington visiting a customer. My next stop was a client in Oregon. Someone asked where I was going next and I replied, “OreGON.”They told me, if you want to be accepted, it’s “OreGUN” not OreGON.I do not believe the Factory Five guys are CMC. Their products are too nice!I said it before…your Marlene…[Read more]

Hi Dick,I hope you don’t mind, but no one is going to be searching to buy a “sadly”. So I took the liberty of changing the subject to be the vehicle you are trying to sell. It’s all marketing 101 boys and girls.

The car is “plastic”.Why shouldn’t the knock-off wrench be plastic?

I like the plastic idea but these “purists” here…I dunno…

Mark: Baltimore. Roll down 95–or Route 1, why not?–I’ll take you for a spin in Bridget and then you can head toward Columbus on I-70

Mark,
if you get close to the I-70-I-75 interchange close to Dayton OH I’m only minutes from there. Not sure what your schedule is but usually have a cold Bud on hand. Montie -

Paul is right about the history of Classic Roadsters. I also understand that the remnants of the company are owned by someone from Saskatchewan Canada and I heard a rumor that the CMC folks are actually the factory five folks, any truth to that? The quality of this kit is amazing the fiberglass is very thick and strong it has roll up windows a…[Read more]

Lots of good ideas. Glad I posted the question. I especially like the laminated plywood version.
I work at a plastics fabrication shop here in Baton Rouge and have access to just about anything in plastics you can think of. Think I’ll try to fab one out of 1″ thick Nylon sheet. Nylon will take all the impact you want to give it and not leave any…[Read more] -

Amen Larry, great feelings for Mike to share…captured my thoughts about these, and other “cruisers” to a tee.
Mike, did you post any pics of the cruise?

Let us know what the diagnosis and fix was…hope it’s a simple fix, not at flat cam lobe or weak valve springs.

I found out that I might be exempt from emissions testing, given that she has collector car insurance and is not a daily driver.

Paul,
I think that I speak for the group, even though I’m new here, when I say that we appreciate the effort you put into moderating this forum. It’s a job like the proverbial duck on a pond. You appear cool and calm on the surface while your feet are moving like crazy under the water. We don’t know the half of what you do to keep TD.com a…[Read more] -

I have the rebuild photos of my 74 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe in my on-line photo album. In there I should have some of the chassis build as I did a body-off rebuild. It can be seen at http://www.fotki.com/Allen1209 and look in the Ghia folder. You can peruse through the car shows as well.

Good to see you get started on your build Allen. I like many others will be anxious to see photos. I was looking at your doner car pics and see you will be doing a pan rebuild. I hope you document this part as this will be a great opportunity to share some great information. I myself have patched pans that need to be redone.
Good luck to you on the build. -

All,
Thanks for the feedback guys. This should give you an idea about the resale value of your vehicles, should you ever decide to part with them. Mine is a nice mid-class replica that went for over $6k. I know that it doesn’t hold a candle to many of the cars I have seen on this site. I think the V6 got a lot of attention, but I also think the…[Read more] -

Hi Mark,I’m in Bath PA (formerly living in New Providence NJ). Both towns are right off Interstate 78.There are marital complications that prevent me from having access to my TD at the moment. The car is still in New Providence. But stay in touch as hopefully those complications will be resolved.
