Instructions on photo upload from the tread Ed Ericson…
First you go to your own thing. Upper right corner it should say something like “Howdy, Happy Jack.” Click on that and you get a drop-down menu. At the bottom it says “media.” Hover over that with your curser and you should see another drop-down menu with “albums,” “photos” “vi…

Hi Guys
Loaned Annie out to a local wedding yesterday. Unfortunately there were a few issues on her return. The ones I really need advice on are..
There now exists “stress fractures” at the top of both doors, probably caused by the doors being opened too far etc.
What would be the best way of repairing these fractures?
Also If anyone knows…[Read more]

Greetings Larry, and welcome aboard!
Turning the torsion spring leaves upside-down would have little or no impact because their neutral position is flat.
The FiberFab build manual, located in the library, describes how to modify the front beam, decreasing the spring rate to accommodate the much lighter front end of the MiGi. basically, FiberFab…[Read more]

Mark, I adapted MWS wire wheels to my TDr and it absolutely pushed the outside of the tire out substantially—so much so I ended up sectioning and widening my fenders. (Blogged step-by-step at link).
If you wanted to go that route on your car I’d suggest getting a narrowed beam, They make a 2-inch narrowed one commercially that would have got th…[Read more]

Mike,
Congratulations on your purchase! Since it hasn’t been run in a while, your London Roadster could probably use some attention to routine maintenance. Here’s a link to a sane schedule: http://www.vw-resource.com/maintenance.html#maintenance. I’d recommend doing everything on the list, all the way down to the wheel bearings. Unless you have…[Read more]

Nice! I didn’t realize this about the original deal; your way makes more sense then.

Was gonna say take the body off and don’t cut the glass because you lose rigidity and body integrity. Then I saw the pic.
You have a tube frame! That is most excellent.
So all you need to preserve is the ability of that front lower rocker panel to stay put.
I’d extend the cut at the back of the hood straight down and then either cut a line…[Read more]

Just a thought:
I use a product called Metal Rescue to remove the rust out of my motorcycle tanks – it is like water and can put your hands in it without hurting your hands or paint. I leave it for a few hours and cleans like crazy. I pour out the product when clean and save it for a few other tanks. I flush out tank with water and and spray…[Read more]

Hi Guys:
I think that Bill told me that you (Eric) are in Wexford which is pretty near me in Sewickley. Maybe we can encourage Bill to come over your way and we could meet up by you? I’m doing a car cruise with the Rolls Royce club on Sunday 2nd (any port in a storm) but other than that I’m free.

I’m up for a meet & greet, we’ll have to pick a place and time. I’ll have to bring the Speedster though. Maggie (she has a name now) is still in pieces all over the garage. For a while there, everything I touched needed work of some sort. I think I’m close to turning the corner though.

Maybe us “Pittsburgh” guys can get together locally. Socially distanced of course. Current there’s me, you and now Eric. I don’t know if there is anyone else nearby?

At this point I think the show itself is still on at the Carlisle Show field ( but who knows what could happen in the future ) but the organizers of the Speedsters/Spyders and TDr’s get together that weekend have canceled our meeting. I believe you can push your registration from this year to next if you ask as others have already done. It will…[Read more]

So Guys.. this is really strange!
On hearing that the Carlisle event was cancelled I called the Marriott as suggested and they told me that ALL registrations had been cancelled already.
I then called Carlisle events to get my registration pushed to next year and they said they have definitely NOT cancelled and the event will go ahead as planned.…[Read more]

It is reported that Carlisle Events will change your showfield registration to 2021 on request. I’ve not requested this yet but at least a couple of guys have.
